Justice League Movie, Goes Forward

[JLA Movie, Are we ready not to have Supes and Bats in this one?]

Written by Kal-El

With the writers strike is now have been resolved. Warner Bros. is going ahead to continue plans to make The Justice League Movie that will be hopefully be release in 2009. Warner Bros. tried to get the big screen adaptation into production earlier, but put it on indefinite hold in January, allowing the cast options to expire.

At the time, the studio said they didn't want to move ahead until the screenwriters had another shot at the script. Writers Kieran and Michele Mulroney are busy polishing up the script, which is expected back at the studio in several weeks, and the cast has been advised to keep training for their superhero roles.

Director George Miller is in pre-production in Australia. Adam Brody, cast as the Flash, is the biggest star in the superhero lineup. Rapper Common nabbed the Green Lantern role. Other roles went to lesser-known actors such as Armie Hammer Jr. as Batman and Megan Gale nabbed Wonder Woman.

This Justice League Movie will a huge priority for the Studio and will be considered a launching pad for other future superhero projects down the line, meaning we'll get more movies out of them, about time too!

You Can Call Me John Stewart

[A Green Lantern with an Attitude]

Written By Kal-El

Due to a most wanted or should i say Most "Voted" for during the past two weeks poll, The victorious goes to The Green Lantern John Stewart, Voters has chosen John Stewart to be our Origins Post for this week. We'll try this again from time to time, hope you'll enjoy it. Thanks again for voting!

["I Got 57.1% Votes....Dude"]

John Stewart, an Architect and a former U.S. Marine soldier, who is now and was selected by the Guardians as a Green Lantern Backup for Hal Jordan. John Stewart was known to have a belligerent attitude to authority figures, as most other Green Lantern including Hal Jordan objected about Stewart, The Guardians stood by their chosen one.

For those who haven't known what a Green Lantern Powers are, John Stewart’s ring provides him with the abilities of all other Green Lanterns. These abilities include flight and limited invulnerablility. As with all other Green Lanterns, the ring is a weapon of the mind and powered by will, therefore only limited to the wearer’s imagination. Like all Green Lanterns, Stewart's personality affects his ring's creations, giving them a solid, architectural quality.

Although Stewart had a bad start, after messing up badly his first assignment, which was to protect a racist politician and John Stewart took advantage of adverting an accident to embarrass him in the process. However, he soon proved to the world his worth when an African American Assassin shot the politician, but John Stewart refused to intervene with Hal Jordan to move in response to the attack. Stewart had good reasons for this apparent dereliction of duty when he stopped a gunman from killing a police officer in the outside parking lot at the event while Jordan was pursuing a decoy. When Jordan confronted Stewart about his actions, Stewart explained that the politician had staged it for political advantage. With that adventure, Jordan concluded that Stewart was an excellent recruit after all. A True Green Lantern. As time goes on, John Stewart filled in as the Green Lantern when Hal Jordan was unavailable, this also includes most missions of the Justice League. Eventually he gave up being a Green Lantern.

Shortly in 1980, The Guardians selected John Stewart to be a full time member of the corp, He was now a full time duty Green Lantern. In time he was also married to Katma Tui, The Green Lantern of the planet of Korugar. Katma Tui was initially assign to be John's trainer on how he could utilize full potential of the Power Ring. Both John and Katma fought alongside other famous Green Lantern with the likes of Hal Jordan, Kilowog, Arisia, Salakk etc.

His real drama came about with John's power ring was rendered powerless through the evil schemes of Sinestro and when Star Sapphire killed Katma-Tui. Stewart's life began to unravel. He was falsely accused of killing Carol Ferris (Star Sapphire's Alterego). He was sent to jail in South Nambia after another false accusation of theft. John freed himself with his old ring which was now re-powered with the help of fellow Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. As a result John inadvertently freed both a terrorist and a serial killer. Hal Jordan confronted John Stewart about his actions, the two emerald guardian went blows until John Stewart realises the "revolutionaries" he had been aiding intended to murder innocent civilians.

John finally forgave himself for his past mistakes and grew into a much stronger, a more complex hero when he became the caretaker of the "Mosaic World", a patchwork of communities from multiple planets that had been brought to Oa by an insane Guardian who had raped John’s mind. Although bitter and sullen at his assignment at first he overcame this and, using his formidable intellect and talent for unconventional thinking, Stewart forged the Mosaic into a new society and eventually became the first mortal Guardian of the Universe, known as the Master Builder. As his reward for this new level of awareness, John was reunited with his late wife, Katma Tui. However, tragedy struck once again and Hal Jordan, possessed by Parallax, destroyed both the Guardians and the Central Power Battery, robbing John of his newfound powers and his resurrected wife.

Following the comic event Emerald Twilight and the collapse of the Green Lantern Corps, John Stewart was recruited by the Controllers to command the Darkstars, (another interstellar peacekeeping force). Using the new resources at his command, John evacuated the Mosaic cities from Oa prior to its destruction and served the Darkstars with distinction until he was crippled in battle with Grayven on the planet Rann. John eventually regained the use of his legs as a parting gift from Jordan before Jordan sacrificed himself to destroy the Sun Eater. Soon afterwards, he accepted a new ring entrusted to The Current Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner by a time-lost Hal Jordan and joined the Justice League.

After The Parallax Era,with the return of Hal Jordan and the Guardians, the Corps has been reorganized. Each sector of space now has two Green Lanterns assigned to it, and Stewart and Jordan now share the responsibilities for Earth’s sector, 2814.

After the dissolution of the Justice League in the aftermath of the events depicted in the 2004 Identity Crisis, and the destruction of their Watchtower headquarters on the moon, John Stewart has begun playing a larger role in metahuman affairs, working with many former Justice Leaguers.During the opening "One Year Later" storyline of Green Lantern, Hal Jordan tells Green Arrow that John Stewart is on an off-world undercover mission. The details concerning this mission were revealed in Green Lantern #17. John Stewart disguised himself as "Hunger Dog" to investigate in Europe. When John hears that Hal Jordan is being held captive by Amon Sur and Loragg, he goes off to rescue him. This leads to a confrontation with Amon Sur, who turns out to be the son of their predecessor, Abin Sur. During the fight, Amon receives a ring from the Sinestro Corps and vanishes.

In Justice League of America Storyline, John Stewart and Wonder Woman designed one of the League’s new headquarters, The Hall. John later resumes his role as the League's resident Green Lantern upon Hal Jordan's request.

Jor-El Resurrected

["My son...I Have White Boots"]

Written by Kal-El

Alright, here goes my first week back at The House of El, due to some unforseen circumstances, i havent been able to divide my time to update as regular as before, but i've told myself today that i'll have to make time in order to keep this site up and running, for the readers, mainly also but for my passion. The Comic Universe.

Ok gangs, enough chit chatting about me, lets talk about this Awesome-Ly made Authentic Action Figure of The God Father himself, As you all will know by know, Marlon Brando was resurrected for the role of Jor-El, now that's a role that's worth keeping, but not only his role was resurrected, but also his action figure line. Need i say "Resurrected" again?

Based on the Superman Returns movie, the Superman Returns Marlon Brando likeness of Jor El is clad in a white fabric costume emblazoned with the Superman "S" emblem. The superbly done-accurate Brando likeness is notable within itself, while simultaneously providing a jumping board for even the most obscure Apocalypse Now quotes and references. Jor El’s disembodied spirit followed his son and found a new manifestation in the Fortress of Solitude, through which Joe El communicated an interactive narrator.

Jor-El figure has 22 points of articulation, Real Cloth fabric sleeveless jacket with top and pants coloured in glossy white. Now, hear this or read this, This figure will cost you USD$ 139.99 ( Thats about $197.59 ) Craaaazzzyy....but only awesome for the true collector, i just wised that they have made one for Chris Reeves Man...That would be "Super"

I am William Stryker

["I'm gonna put adamantium steel in your bones!"]

Written by Kal-El

There are reason to believed that this picture of the man that you see (Danny Houston, from 30 days of Night) has joined the cast for the next Marvel/ 20th Century Fox's project, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Danny Houston will play the role of William Stryker, he now joins Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and also Liev Schreiber who will play the main villian Sabertooth directed by Gavin Hood and coming to theaters on May 1, 2009. In the previous X2: X-Men United, Brian Cox played an older version of the William Stryker character.

This film leads up to the events of X-Men and tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

Expecting more updates to come.

A First Look at Batman: Gotham Knight

Take a first look at Batman: Gotham Knight, Directed by Bruce W. Timm, the direct-to-DVD six-part anthology film bridge the gap between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. The writers include Brian Azzarello, Alan Burnett, Jordan Goldberg, David S. Goyer, Josh Olson and Greg Rucka.

Here's Looking at You Bub!

[ Check out my deltoids!! ]

Written by Kal-El

It was reported today by USA Today this first look at Hugh Jackman as Logan in X-Men Origins: Wolverine The film will trace Wolverine's past as he discovers the world of mutants and, ultimately, the ominous Weapon X program, which turns people into living weapons.

Jackman is tight-lipped on plot details, though he says the film will hardly be a one-mutant story. Wolverine's nemesis Sabretooth "is going to play a big part in it. And there will be a good bit of cameos" of new and familiar mutants, he says. "But you can't give too much away, because fans are pretty hard-core. Their expectations go up a level every time you come out with a new film."
Hugh Jackman looks more buff up than ever for this movie...compared to his previous X-Men movie...That's cool! The Wolverine Movie is Directed by Gavin Hood and co-starring Liev Schreiber, X-Men Origins: Wolverine will hit theaters on May 1, 2009.

Female Fury Warrior

[Big Barda]

Written by Kal-El

My sincere apologies for not been able to write in awhile, it's sure is though living the double life alright, along side with the Jam Pack Schedule that me, GL, Thor and Kara have. But what the Hay, Today is a good day to start writting!

We haven't done any serious good girls out there that deserve the spot light. So today i'll focus the attention to our very own Strong but caring and lovely Mrs Miracle, or better yet she's also known as Big Barda. Here how the story goes....read on.

Big Barda was born of the race of New Gods about 250 years ago, on Apokolips. Barda was taken away from her mother Big Breeda at an early age to be trained as a warrior. She is a product of Granny Goodness' Home for Orphaned Youth. Granny's motto is "Die for Darkseid" (the planet's evil ruler). Granny grooms Barda to one day lead the Female Fury Battalion, a ferocious pack of warrior women. However, during a raid Barda meets Scott Free, Darkseid's adopted son, and, sensing a peace about him.

Barda has superhuman strength, endurance, and is virtually indestructible. She can project cosmic energy for destructive blasts, perceive matter and energy on a sub-atomic level, form and manipulate energy constructs and discharge most forms of energy. She wields a high tech weapon called a Mega-rod, which produces extremely powerful concussive bursts. She can also summon and uses Aero-disks which allow her to fly, and Apokaliptian armor which augments her already superhuman strength. She can manipulate space to teleport at will, or reshape or transmute or even animate matter. She can heal other living beings, though she cannot raise the dead, and can revitalize organic life on a planetary scale. She can phase through solid matter.

Barda risks her own safety to work with the rebel cell lead by the New God Himon. Both of them help Scott escape from Apokolips. Eventually, Barda turns her back on Granny, and comes to Earth herself. Scott has become an escape artist called Mister Miracle, and is teamed with Oberon, his diminutive manager. Scott and Barda fell in love and are married by Scott's father, the Highfather of New Genesis. For a number of years, Barda follows Scott and Oberon on tour. Eventually they retire as superheroes and move to Bailey, New Hampshire. However, despite their best attempts of a normal life eludes them. Disasters plague them; Barda, Scott, and Oberon leave Bailey and move to a loft in Greenwich Village, New York City. Barda forms a defense-training program for women called the New Female Furies.

Though naive regarding Earth customs, Barda relishes her roles of wife and housekeeper. However, when duty calls she never hesitates to assume the posture of a warrior, and when Scott joins the Justice League, Barda participates in several missions. In one instance, while training Fire, her weapon, the Mega-Rod is stolen from her car. With the assistance of other League members, she gets it back but not before many innocent people are killed by its wielder who was unable to resist the corrupting influence of the Apokoliptian technology. Barda also leads a JLA mission to rescue her husband after he is lost in space. The mission is a result of Manga Khan selling Scott to Granny Goodness. Her teammates include Martian Manhunter, Rocket Red and G'Nort. In an attempt to dissuade their successful pursuit, Manga Khan hires Lobo, paying him in dolphin feed, to kill them. He almost does, before Barda teleports him to a random location, that being ten feet behind Guy Gardner's skull. The repercussions of that literal meeting of the minds would last for years.

After their time with the Justice League, the two leave Earth for New Genesis. However, they soon return to Earth and take up temporary residence aboard the Justice League Refuge. During this period the couple separate briefly due to Scott's lack of consideration for her feelings.

Barda has served as a member of the JLA in her own right: at Takion's order, she and fellow New God Orion (Darkseid's Son) are sent as agents of New Genesis to serve on the team. Their mission is to help mobilize Earth's heroes against the omnipotent Mageddon. Over time, they become involved with several other JLA missions. Adam Strange, needing help with an alien invasion, enslaves the JLA as part of a bluff. The League works for days, turning the planet into a giant teleportation beam. The aliens are sent off to the prison planet of Takron-Galtos, which Barda had mentioned several times during the ordeal. In another instance, Barda is badly wounded fighting the Queen Bee, a member of the newly reformed Injustice League. Once Mageddon is defeated, Barda and Orion resign from the JLA.

Barda and Scott currently reside in the suburbs of Connecticut and are active adventurers. Barda never hesitates to lend a hand to her friends when her power and expertise are needed. Barda accompanies Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman to Apokolips to rescue Supergirl from Darkseid's clutches as told in the epic Superman/Batman Graphic Novel called "Supergirl", and accepts an invitation from Oracle to become the heavy-hitter on the Birds of Prey.

Big Barda was killed in the first issue of Death of The New Gods; her funeral occurs in the second issue of the series. Zinda Blake, last survivor of the Blackhawk Squadron, places a photo of Barda beside the snapshots of her fallen comrades on a wall of honor in the bar near Edwards Air Force Base, acknowledging her heroic status. May she now rest in peace as she was the greatest Female Fury Warrior.

Thanks for Reading guys, btw She's awesome in Justice League The Animation series...See you guys around.
