Back to Old School

Batman : The Brave and The Bold, is the latest interpretation of the classic Batman franchise, our caped crusader is teamed up with heroes from across the DC Universe, delivering nonstop action and adventure with a touch of comic relief. Blue Beetle, Green Arrow, Aquaman and countless others will get a chance to uphold justice alongside Batman. Though still based in Gotham, Batman will frequently find himself outside city limits, facing situations that are both unfamiliar and exhilarating. With formidable foes around every corner, Batman will still rely on his stealth, resourcefulness and limitless supply of cool gadgets to bring justice home.

"The Brave and The Bold" is going to take a more light-hearted action oriented angle on the super hero genre. It'll focus more on high adventure mixed with a sense of humor than has been the trend lately in super hero films and television shows. They will be showing a different sides of Batman's character when he's dealing with a different hero every week. So there are lots of new gadgets, new takes on villains and heroes - with a healthy dose of fun.

So stay tune...

Superman Gets Rebooted

[Will Brandon stay on?]

Warner Bros. also put on hold plans for another movie starring multiple superheroes -- known as "Batman vs. Superman" -- after the $215 million "Superman Returns," which had disappointing box-office returns, didn't please executives. "'Superman' didn't quite work as a film in the way that we wanted it to," says Mr. Robinov. "It didn't position the character the way he needed to be positioned." "Had 'Superman' worked in 2006, we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009," he adds. "But now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman without regard to a Batman and Superman movie at all."

The article also talks about Warner Bros. adapting other DC properties over the new few years. "By 2011, Mr. Robinov plans for DC Comics to supply the material for up to two of the six to eight tent-pole films he hopes Warner Bros. will have in the pipeline by then," it says. Those projects will likely be about single characters at first, and will be darker much like The Dark Knight.

With "Batman vs. Superman" and "Justice League" stalled, Warner Bros. has quietly adopted Marvel's model of releasing a single film for each character, and then using those movies and their sequels to build up to a multicharacter film. "Along those lines, we have been developing every DC character that we own," Mr. Robinov says.

Like the recent Batman sequel -- which has become the highest-grossing film of the year thus far -- Mr. Robinov wants his next pack of superhero movies to be bathed in the same brooding tone as "The Dark Knight." Creatively, he sees exploring the evil side to characters as the key to unlocking some of Warner Bros.' DC properties. "We're going to try to go dark to the extent that the characters allow it," he says. That goes for the company's Superman franchise as well.

The studio is set to announce its plans for future DC movies in the next month. For now, though, it is focused on releasing four comic-book films in the next three years, including a third Batman film, a new film reintroducing Superman, and two movies focusing on other DC Comics characters.

Movies featuring Green Lantern, Flash, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman are all in active development.

Iron Man 2 Lands On 2010

The Los Angeles Times talked to Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau, who says they have started working on the sequel:

I just talked to Jon Favreau a bit ago, and he said that while there hasn't been an formal announcement on the sequel to "Iron Man," he's begun developing it. "We're working on it now," he said, "which hasn't been officially announced. It will be released in 2010."

Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures are targeting an April 30, 2010 release date in order to be the first film to kick-off that summer, much like Iron Man did on May 2nd of this year.

Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder) is writing the script and in addition to Robert Downey Jr., the first film's co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard are expected to return as well.

Here's a brief description of "Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow":After making the ultimate sacrifice in their final struggle against the indestructible robot, Ultron, the Avengers left behind their children to become the heroes of tomorrow. Under the watchful tutelage of Tony Stark, Iron Man, it's up to James (son of Captain America and Black Widow), Torunn (daughter of Thor), Azari (son of the Black Panther), and Pym (son of Wasp and Giant Man) to finish what their parents started! Ultron's not going down without a fight though, and Iron Man and the Hulk will be there to assist this group of Next Avengers as they realize the powers they have and the history they guard.

Can you say "Awesome!!"

Here's a major update from Comic Con on all the latest game of Superheroes to come, hope you'll enjoy reading and also watching all the clips that i posted. This is a great deal for gamer-Superheroes genre lovers. Here's a little something from Craveonline. Read on Superheroes.

Comic-Con 2008 came to an end on Sunday and with the event holding roughly 125,000 people there was plenty to see and take in. If you were one of those people there then you probably got lost on the sales floor at least once, but hopefully in that time you got to see all of the amazing things that were on that floor. However if you didn’t, or if you weren’t at Comic-Con then Craveonline’s got your back and these are some of the coolest Video Games we saw this year on the sales floor.

[DC Comics has made a big move to go online with this one, Awesome!!]

DC Universe Online is a MMORPG that will be one to look for over during its development, and it was also a Comic-Con exclusive first look. The game will be a lot like City of heroes but instead of creating a hero of your own you can pick from absolutely any hero in the DC Universe and parade in a huge universe online with players from all over the world as you battle villains from all over the world as well. At the booth you got to play several different demos involving different powers like speed, flight, strength and more. One of the developers made a comment about the comparison between this and City of Heroes;

“While the overall feel of the game play will be that of City of Heroes the one major difference will be the fighting style. The fighting style will be completely based off of a player’s skill and nothing to do with the character they choose. This will allow players to grow more themselves as opposed to looking at a role of the dice.”

The demo is brand new and not even in its alpha stage yet but it already looks good. Make sure to watch more on this as it develops.

[The long awaited game is coming back, Sweet!!]

Activision was also on the sceneand they brought more goodies than one could ask for as they showcased two major titles; Spider-Man: Web of Shadows as well as Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion. While neither had playable demos they both released full official trailers for the first time, as well as holding voice auditions for the voice actors of henchmen for MUA 2.

[Must get for Spidey-gamer fans, the fight scenes looks good]

Let's take a quick look at The new Lego Batman which had stations all over the place with demos set up, I mean this game was at DC, it was at LEGO, it was at Warner Bros and it was in the video game section for random stuff. While this may have seemed a bit excessive the truth was it turned out to be a really good marketing scheme as every time you played the demo at a different station you got a different LEGO piece.

[ Cute...Just plain Cute]

Here's a cool last one, i've posted this game earlier a few months back , but hey...you might wanna check out the hype about it, it's totally awesome guys, check out this special features on the Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, Its wicked cool!!

[Dare i say it again..."Wicked Awesome!!"]

Thanks for reading..

Venom, a potential "Spider-Man" spinoff

["Chocolate...I want Chocolate!"]

The studio had commissioned a draft of the script from Jacob Estes (Mean Creek), but the studio is considering going in a different direction from Estes' script and is seeking writers for a new draft.

Casting also is no simple matter. Topher Grace played the character in the film, but agents have been eyeing the role for their clients, as Sony is not yet convinced the actor can carry a tentpole picture. The Hollywood Reporter adds that neither Sony nor Marvel would comment for the story. Sony is also still developing a fourth "Spider-Man" film for 2011.
