Will there be an Episode 7?
Hi Guys,
We're back! Sorry for the hiatus, it's been a long while since i submitted an entry due to the poor internet connection back at home. But never the less, there are so many stuff that we had left behind, so im just gonna post up the key and recent important news for all fanboys there is...the key news right now is Star Wars... Read on..
The Walt Disney Company announced today it has agreed to acquire Lucasfilm and is planning Star Wars Episode 7 for 2015! In a later conference call, Disney revealed that they are planning a new trilogy starting in 2015 with a new movie coming every other year. They were also asked about "Indiana Jones," but said that they were going to concentrate on the "Star Wars" franchise for now. This is following such big purchases as Pixar and Marvel Entertainment. Here is the full press release:
Continuing its strategy of delivering exceptional creative content to audiences around the world, The Walt Disney Company has agreed to acquire Lucasfilm Ltd. in a stock and cash transaction. Lucasfilm is 100% owned by Lucasfilm Chairman and Founder, George Lucas.
Under the terms of the agreement and based on the closing price of Disney stock on October 26, 2012, the transaction value is $4.05 billion, with Disney paying approximately half of the consideration in cash and issuing approximately 40 million shares at closing. The final consideration will be subject to customary post-closing balance sheet adjustments.
"Lucasfilm reflects the extraordinary passion, vision, and storytelling of its founder, George Lucas," said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company. "This transaction combines a world-class portfolio of content including Star Wars, one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with Disney's unique and unparalleled creativity across multiple platforms, businesses, and markets to generate sustained growth and drive significant long-term value."
"For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next," said George Lucas, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lucasfilm. "It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I've always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. I'm confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney's reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products."
Under the deal, Disney will acquire ownership of Lucasfilm, a leader in entertainment, innovation and technology, including its massively popular and "evergreen" Star Wars franchise and its operating businesses in live action film production, consumer products, animation, visual effects, and audio post production. Disney will also acquire the substantial portfolio of cutting-edge entertainment technologies that have kept audiences enthralled for many years. Lucasfilm, headquartered in San Francisco, operates under the names Lucasfilm Ltd., LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, and Skywalker Sound, and the present intent is for Lucasfilm employees to remain in their current locations.
Kathleen Kennedy, current Co-Chairman of Lucasfilm, will become President of Lucasfilm, reporting to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. Additionally she will serve as the brand manager for Star Wars, working directly with Disney's global lines of business to build, further integrate, and maximize the value of this global franchise. Ms. Kennedy will serve as executive producer on new Star Wars feature films, with George Lucas serving as creative consultant. Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.
The acquisition combines two highly compatible family entertainment brands, and strengthens the long-standing beneficial relationship between them that already includes successful integration of Star Wars content into Disney theme parks in Anaheim, Orlando, Paris and Tokyo.
Driven by a tremendously talented creative team, Lucasfilm's legendary Star Wars franchise has flourished for more than 35 years, and offers a virtually limitless universe of characters and stories to drive continued feature film releases and franchise growth over the long term. Star Wars resonates with consumers around the world and creates extensive opportunities for Disney to deliver the content across its diverse portfolio of businesses including movies, television, consumer products, games and theme parks. Star Wars feature films have earned a total of $4.4 billion in global box to date, and continued global demand has made Star Wars one of the world's top product brands, and Lucasfilm a leading product licensor in the United States in 2011. The franchise provides a sustainable source of high quality, branded content with global appeal and is well suited for new business models including digital platforms, putting the acquisition in strong alignment with Disney's strategic priorities for continued long-term growth.
The Lucasfilm acquisition follows Disney's very successful acquisitions of Pixar and Marvel, which demonstrated the company's unique ability to fully develop and expand the financial potential of high quality creative content with compelling characters and storytelling through the application of innovative technology and multiplatform distribution on a truly global basis to create maximum value. Adding Lucasfilm to Disney's portfolio of world class brands significantly enhances the company's ability to serve consumers with a broad variety of the world's highest-quality content and to create additional long-term value for our shareholders.
The Boards of Directors of Disney and Lucasfilm have approved the transaction, which is subject to clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act, certain non-United States merger control regulations, and other customary closing conditions. The agreement has been approved by the sole shareholder of Lucasfilm.

Marvel's New Adventure Game
I just got finished talking about DC's new character based fighting game and Marvel lays down plans of their own. Marvel Heroes will pick up where games like Alliance left off - with the group-based, fight-all-over-the-screen genre.
Similar to DC, Marvel Heroes has no announced release date yet but promises to feature a large span of characters and Doctor Doom as the big boss. In the image above, check out Spiderman's alternative costume and the Planet War skin on Hulk, poozers. Gentlemen, it's time to update your PS3 bucket lists.
Watch this space.
DC Comics' New Fighting Game
The first time I saw Green Lantern kick the stuffing out of Scorpion, I knew that this probably wouldn't be the last fighting game the DC Comics and DC characters would venture into. Glad to know that what everyone was expecting actually came true.
The title for the newest DC themed fighting game is Injustice: Gods Among Us, and image stills have just been released. The plot promises to go into the origins of the characters at a deeper level. Also, it gives us a little bit of a nerdgasm to note that character uniforms are updated to the new 52 era (i.e. spandex-less Superman, Wonder Woman in pants, etc.)

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man gets a Review
Look what came in! Ohh yes, I've always wanted a cool Spidey Figure, and after reading most reviews, a lot of people have suggested this figure by Hot Toys. Read on..
As usual, everything was packed brilliantly in a clam-shell. Spidey comes fully packed with accessories. Amazing webs lines that can be attached to the Spidey figure. Multiple hands and a standee diorama of a building for amazing poses. Extra pegs included.
Details to the Suit linings, Do not, this can be very delicate and might stretch out over a long time of posing. Handle with care.
Loving the emblem that represents your friendly neighborhood Spider-man!
As i mentioned, detailed to the fullest, including these boots. It creases!!
Red Spider Logo in the back!
Underneath this cool Spidey suit is a TrueType Hot Toys body figure. Pose are cool with this figure, your only limited to the suit's limitation.
The head could be more rounder with the mask on...your gonna see the back of the head. And if you've realized the right shoulder on my figure has a little hinge , but no biggey, its still an amazing figure to add to your collections.
Of course with Spidey, this figure will come only with a suit, so his suit might come with some problems, look at the stitching done to the head mask. Dont worry, everyone is complaining about this, but its not too noticable, hopefully Hot Toys can improve this in the future for future Spidey licenses.
But out of all the imperfections that comes, Spidey still strikes an amazing similarity to the Movie Spiderman 3 "Tobey Maguire" look. Too bad no Tobey head-sculpt.
Of course Accessories comes with Spidey is the standard 12 Inch figure standee with cradle and Spidey's Building diorama. Very Cool!
How do we rate this figure? We gave it a 7 Star out of 10 (*******)
Simply because the original price was going for $154.00 with tons of Accessories that comes with the figure, Value does increases over time, Ebay now is going for US259 to US330.
Details are amazing , Hot toys did an amazing figure. This was a great buy, next to come on our site is the 1989 Batman : Michael Keaton! Stay tune for that! For now, enjoy the pics and thanks for reading!
I Can see Mary Jane from here! |
So got a room in the Avengers for your friendly neighbour hood Spider-Man? |
If you wanna see more pics, go to our galley at The House of El : Gallery

Logan Is In Australia
All hear this, all hear this! Hugh Jackman is reprising this role as Wolverine in yet another Marvel movie - a sequel, in fact. What's different about this movie, apart from the fact that this movie title has 'The' in the front? Well, this Logan story is set in Japan and will start filming in Australia between July and December of this year
While principle photography was supposed to be done in Japan, the tsunami forced the production team to move its work to Fox Studios in Sydney.
As for the plot, a Japanese setting for a Wolverine story could only mean one villain that would face Logan. That's the big hint, now go work it out for yourselves.
The Amazing New International Poster
If Spiderman were a real person living in this society, he would probably care very little about what you thought of his new 'amazing' costume. Love it or hate it, the movie is coming and riding on the backs of real popular superhero-themed releases (i.e. The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises).
We're not going to go into the origins of this wonderful Marvel character - you're not stupid, you're intelligent and have done your reading - needless to say that Spidey's first story will be retold once again.
Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on July 3, the Marc Webb-directed action adventure stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

Rumours: DC Comics LOBO Movie
Taken from Superherohype.com
Warner Bros. has set Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton for their DC Comics adaptation, Lobo, Deadline reports.
Created in 1984 by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, Lobo is a Czarnian (originally Velorpian) bounty hunter who, as a nearly indestructible anti-hero, drives a space-faring motorcycle across the cosmos in search of his next target.
When Guy Ritchie was attached to the project in 2009, Don Payne had written the most recent draft of the script and had Lobo tracking four alien fugitives to Earth and teaming with a small town girl to track them down.
Though there's no hint at casting as of yet (and, no matter what, the character is likely going to employ heavy makeup and CGI to be realized for the screen), Jeffrey Dean Morgan told Superhero Hype some time back that playing the ultimate bastich would be one his dream roles.
