DC turns 75!
[ Our Trinity ]In honor of DC Comics' 75th anniversary, here are the things that DC Fans are actually "To die for" items that you must get! We older kids now must have shared a mutual respect to these 3 people, Namely Lynda Carter, Michael Keaton & Christopher Reeve. Yes, they were the original trinity to actually potrayed the costume superheroes back in the 70's and 80's. Hyped about Iron Man 2
Cool huh? Absolutely amazing! We can't wait for this movie to come out! If you seen this trailer, the movie leaves much to the Marvel Movie Project : The Avengers. This trailer actually shown Colonel Nick Fury as it was portrayed by Actor Samuel Jackson further more with the involvement of the Black Widow. And to top it off, Talk about War Machine, looks like Don Cheadle will be doing more of an active role this time in the 2nd movie, then compared in the origins. Last but not least, i think Mickey Rouke is a bad ass!
Also Marvel Select has already released their version of the Iron Man 2 Marvel Select figures, Check em out!

Action Figure Review #1 : DC Direct Superman 13 Inch Deluxe
Hi Guys, thought i do an Action Figure Review for the first time here at the House of El. With my current status of having a Knee Injury i wasn't able to move around much, so i had some difficulty with the Lighting so the photos has been edited (a little bit) to add contrast and colour. So as i was starring at some of my figure collection that was still in their respective boxes, this one gave me quite an itch to open up. I managed to hold off 2 and a half years till i managed to open this one up, so what better to kick off the review with a Superman Figure and now i feel abit guilty about opening it and thinking whether i should get another one. But once i i opened it, and played with it, it was amazing! Anyways here we go.
Part of DC Direct Superheroes 13 Inch deluxe collectibles that you won't want to miss is this Superman 13 inch Deluxe. This would be their second edition of the Superman 13 Inch Deluxe, the first version is has a different head sculpt and also has changeable Superman to Clark Kent and other accessories included as the picture shown below.
The first edition shows the head sculpt is different and also shown below the Clark Kent Costume was also included.

Here's how he's neatly packed from behind by all the 'twisties' that ties him up nice and snuggy in the box.
After taking it apart, the stands that was included and has a nice matte black Superman Logo on the base stand which is a nice touch by the guys at DC Direct. But the stand limits the figurine to only help him stand, no flight mode poses.
Now the fabric detail is the most amazing of all, the cape itself has a all yellow Superman logo printed on it, but the fabric is like a smooth silk that stretches and fits Superman proportionately.
DC Direct again paid so much into the detail of the costume, even the boots as we speak. But unfortunately the zipper is quite big which it stands out the most. But hey, if the shoe fits, why not!
This is what i meant by no flight mode pose, unless you twist and turn him abit, but you'll end up getting more like a landing pose, but the most amazing part of these deluxe figure is the articulation is very good, i dont really know how many articulation they can do, but i all arms joints can articulate all except his wrist. The torso is also able to twist and turn and also swivel up and down. Neck and head has its limitation though, could not swivel the head down. From the torso down, the legs articulation is pretty much standard, thighs part has a twist point, as do the knees, calves and also the ankle. Pretty impressive there.
As a height measurement, i decided to compare it to one of my old Mattel's Superman Returns 13 Inch Hyper Pose-able figures. The DC Direct 13 Inch deluxe Superman stands a little bit shorter as you can see his shoulders are shorter as compared to the Superman Returns one, but this is maybe the figure was design at a very detailed proportion.
Now the pose-off, their nearly the same as i mentioned earlier, except the Mattel's Superman Returns has a few more articulation than the DC Direct's one. For example, the neck could extend him to look down and up, His fist and fingers are also articulated, but all these articulation has nothing to compared to the DC Direct as the DC Direct Superman twist and turns very smooth than comparing it to the Mattel's plastic-ky feel when you pose him.
In the end, i was very much please with this Deluxe Figure and i know this might be bias but i would like to give this figure a straight up 8.5 out of 10. Why 8.5? Due to the high detail for the costume and head sculpt is strikingly close to the Superman in the comics. Also to compliment it was the articulation but even tho it has it's limitation. Why was it not a perfect score? Probably due to the play value that i took into account. This is not the kind of figure i would bring around to the office and to display him. He should be either be on a glass case or back into the box, which i probably am also considering doing. Thanks for reading and until next time!
