Justice Rumours
The most talked about topics recently, and probably for the rest of the year, and the beginning of next year, is Warner Bros. and their probable adaptation of Justice League of America. This is the movie to end all movies. This is the mother of all super-hero movies.
But I'm going to do something totally out of habit for The House Of El - and just report a few rumors here and there. But, blogging rumors is not something we condone here in The House Of El; don't let that be forgotten.
The first rumor we've heard is that Happy Feet director George Miller is reportedly attached to this upcoming movie.
Reports have said that the superhero team-up movie would include Batman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern. And that casting for the movie would start next week. On top of that Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) and Brandon Routh (Superman, Superman: Man of Steel) would not be involved.
Movie watchdogs say that the movie might be a CGI/performance capture project, much like The Polar Express, and the upcoming Beowulf and Avatar.
The company, Imageworks, are apparently in the running to provide services on the JLA film, competing with two other companies, R&H and possibly WETA (based in New Zealand, and famous for King Kong effects).
But the real interesting thing is that the contract is for an all-cgi 'photo-real' motion capture movie, like the upcoming Beowulf. Expect Justice League of America to go into production early 2008, if everything goes smoothly. I can't wait.

Being Frank Castle
Is Ryan Up For The Flash?
“‘The Flash’ isn’t dead at all. There’s talk of it being a JLA movie, the Justice League having them all together. And then there’s other talk of doing a ‘Flash’ movie with Director Shawn Levy.”
Rumors of a Justice League movie have gained momentum in recent weeks. Now we’re hearing it straight from one of the potential stars’ mouths. When asked if he thought the JLA film might happen first, Reynolds told us, “it might, yeah. I don’t really know how much I’m allowed to talk about that stuff. But I’m sure they’ll figure out something. It’s no secret that they have a JLA script and it’s a project that’s in development – the contents of which, who knows. We’ll see.”
For an actor who’s no longer “officially” attached to play a role, Reynolds sounded very excited about the prospect of a Justice League film, “I’d love to see a full on Justice League movie done, the scope of which is just enormous. I think it’s something they can pull off.”
1st Insignia : The Flash Emblem
We kick off with The Fastest Man Alive logo. The yellow lightning bolt in a white circle was introduced with the first appearance of Barry Allen in Showcase #4, back in 1956. While a simple lightning bolt had been Jay Garrick’s emblem, but this spectacular logo has become “the” Flash symbol in the same way that the S-shield is tied into Superman’s design, or the big spider on Spider-Man's chest. In addition to later Flashes Wally West and Bart Allen, numerous alternate reality and future Flashes have worn the lightning in a circle.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Be sure to stay tune for more insignias. See you around.

Coolest Belt Ever Made
- Batarangs: Batman's version of the Shuriken. They have often been more closely identified with boomerangs. A large array of different types and sizes for different effects (ie blunt impact, edged, slashing, etc. and other uses) sometimes dipped with tranquillizers.
- Bat-bolas: Thrown around the feet of Batman's enemies to tie them with a composite-nylon cord. Often causes an escaping opponent to trip. With the push of a button in Batman's glove it can deliver an electric shock.
- Bat-cuffs: Bat shaped handcuffs, resembling the kind used by Special Forces units. These restraints are made of a lightweight diamond-impregnated nylon overlaying a banded steel core. Using a one-piece design, they slide closed and have to be cut off. Batman has given a special tool with a diamond-edged cutting implement to the Gotham PD for removal.
- Bat-Tracer: Used to track enemies Batman can't follow closely. Communications device: Often an earbug, but sometimes handheld.
- Bat-Darts: Tipped with tranquillizers
- Goo gun: A handheld foam projector that fires an adhesive-like substance to incapacitate opponents.
- Grappling Hook: Used to attach a with high-tensil wire line in order to scale sheer surfaces and/or swing across gaps.
- Night vision goggles: Using Starlite infrared lenses to see thermal output in low light or non-lit situations. Currently built-in to Batman's cowl.
- Kryptonite ring: Stored in a lead box, it is reserved for emergency use against a rogue Superman and/or other Kryptonians.
- Laser torch: A strong miniaturized laser use as a cutting tool.
- Line gun: (Grapnel Gun)Similar to a grappling hook, the line gun uses a strong clamp attached to a high-tensil wire for scaling surfaces and/or traversing gaps. It can be recovered by releasing the clamp and rewinding the cable. It was based from one that is designed as compact climbing gear for commando units.
- Lock pick: Of course Batman needs to break in some entries.
- Marble: Rolled down stairs to imitate footsteps. Depicted as a magnetic metal ball in the "Hush" storyline arc.
- Micro camera: Well Batman is considered as the World's Greatest Detective.
- Miniaturized toolkit : Batman is also Mr.Fix it.
- Rebreather: Allows Batman to breathe underwater or in vacuum. Depending on the writer and/or artist, it may also be incorporated with the gas mask.
- Smoke pellets: Often used to quickly provide cover for Batman's stealthly exits and entries. Knock-out gas pellets are used as well for non-lethally incapacitating opponents. Lachrymatory and regurgitant agents are deployed by throwing or breaking open the small hardened-gelatin spheroid capsules.
- Stun (Flash-Bang) grenades: Emits bright light and loud sound to blind and stun enemies.
- Thermite grenades: An incendiary used to burn through obstacles. In Batman: Year One, the thermite charge ignited accidentally and destroyed the utility belt. Although they are identified as Thermite, it is safe to assume that Thermate is used instead. (The former is a World War II technology which has largely been replaced by the latter.) In Judgement on Gotham (1991), Batman is equipped with a phosphor-based incendary device.
- A cache of cash : For late night Coffees. Usefull for stake outings.

We just had word that Edward Norton has rewrote the screenplay for The Incredible Hulk which is due in 2008, In the case of "Hulk", after another writer's treatment was declined in early 2006, Marvel hired Zak Penn, who wrote three drafts over a year. By spring 2007, Penn was about to go off to promote his movie "The Grand," but the studio and the director, Louis Leterrier ("The Transporter"), still felt that the screenplay needed work.

The Name is Barton, Clinton Barton
Eventually Hawkeye applied for membership in the Avengers by breaking into the Avengers Mansion and announcing that he wanted to be a part of the group and was accepted. He served alongside the late Captain America, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch as "the New Avengers". Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch had also initially been supervillains until realizing the error of their prior actions. Although Hawkeye wanted the Black Widow to join the Avengers with him, several other Avengers were resistant to the idea, given her Cold War spy past, and Black Widow's increasing involvement with S.H.I.E.L.D. also created tension between the pair, finally resulting in a split.
Although Hawkeye was enamored with the Scarlet Witch and very briefly tried to romance her, she eventually married their teammate, the Vision. During a later solo adventure, Hawkeye met the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Barbara "Bobbi" Morse, alias Mockingbird while she was investigating Cross Technological Enterprises, Hawkeye's employer at the time. Unknown to Hawkeye, Cross Tech was run by the villain Crossfire, who had a plan to use an aggression-inducing sonic wave against all of New York's superheroes. Crossfire captured the snooping Hawkeye and Mockingbird and tested the sonic wave on them, causing them to fight each other. Hawkeye used a sonic ray arrowhead, hidden in his mouth, to cancel out the sonic waves, freeing himself from the wave's control but ruining his hearing requiring him to use hearing aides afterward in the process. After defeating Crossfire, Hawkeye and Mockingbird eloped.

Collector Showcase presents Sexy Lexy's Collections
On a Saturday morning, 28th of July 2007, The House of El was greatly invited by one of earliest reader of our blog, Sexy Lexy. Other readers will see him from time to time leaving us messages of whereabouts of Action figure shops in other countries or even websites to share information with the other readers. We have known him since before this blog had actually started up, he was a friend, a brother, a ex-colleague and now one of the major collectors that I have personally know.
2003 is the year that he only started collecting action figures, All started with him being overseas, again the oppurtunity was there for him to cash in some action figures, i guess that's all how we started out as well. Sexy Lexy shared the same hard felt feeling of how it is very hard to get the decent and legit stuff here in Brunei. So he spends most of his time buying his stuff through online.
[Here are some images Half of Sexy Lexy’s collections of Action Figures.]
Hope to do more business with you in the near future. Stay Cool True Believers! Start your collection today.

Bad Reflection
It's quite rare that we here at The House Of El have given focus to one of the Flash's outstanding villains; and without a doubt, he does have his share of villains. However, Flash has always had that reputation of suffering from over-colorful and over-comic enemies. One of those is Mirror Master.
Mirror Master is a recurring bad-guy of the Flash with a large technical knowledge of mirrors. Mirrors are his based weapons and there are a variety of skill the Mirror Master employs in combat. To day, four individuals have donned the guise of Mirror Master.
The very first Mirror Master was a convict named Sam Scudder, who worked in the prison machine shop. One day, he stumbled on a mirror-making technique that would allow mirrors to capture and retain images for a limited period of time. Scudder used his discovery to escape, and then began to refine the technology. He then began a life of crime as the super-villain, Mirror Master, and terrorized Central City. Mirror Master was constantly working on new technology, developing mirrors that allowed him to capture people inside them, travel to other dimensions, control minds, and convert matter into glass. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, Mirror Master was dispatched back in time to prevent a catastrophe, but was killed while arguing with fellow villains.
Later, Captain Boomerang briefly took Scudder's identity, becoming the second Mirror Master, to commit crimes while remaining in good standing with the bad-guy-team known as the Suicide Squad.
The third Mirror Master was Scotsman. As a baby, Evan McCulloch was left on the doorstep of an orphanage run by a lady named Mrs. McCulloch. He had nothing but his first name and a photograph of his parents. He grew up as a fairly normal child, until one night he got into a brawl with a bully and killed him. He was never caught, and, at age 16, Evan left the orphanage, again with nothing but his parents' photograph.
He settled in Glasgow, where he took up a life of drinking and partying that eventually led to crime. Evan began to hire himself out as an assassin. He was an excellent killer, and quickly became one of the most renowned mercenaries in the United Kingdom.
One day, he had been scheduled to do two hits. His eye was injured in the course of the first, leaving him with impaired vision. Evan couldn't shake the feeling that the second target seemed familiar, but only after he pulled the trigger did he recognize the man as his father from the photograph. At the funeral, Evan saw his mother.
Over the next few days, he tried to work up the courage to see her, but by the time he had, his mother had committed suicide. Evan, in grief, was about to turn himself over to the authorities when an unknown and shady company (a mix of U.S. Government and big corporations) offered him the costume and weapons of the original Mirror Master in exchange for his services.
His first assignment was to scare Animal Man into abandoning his animal-rights protests. This was a mission he failed thanks to the sheer anger of Animal Man's wife. McCulloch eventually even helped Animal Man to fight the same men who gave McCulloch his weapons, but his heroism was short lived. He continues to work as a criminal and a super-villain-for-hire. At times, Evan also worked out of costume as a common mercenary in Britain.
Evan later moved to Keystone City, and came into conflict with the third Flash. He discovered a Mirror Dimension which enabled him to travel through any reflective surface. During the events of Underworld Unleashed, the team known as the Rogues had accepted him as Scudder's successor. After being betrayed by the devil Neron, McCulloch and four of the other Rogues died and went to Hell, but returned later due to a confrontation between Neron and the Flash. For a brief time, McCulloch then joined Lex Luthor's Injustice Gang and fought the Justice League of America.
He worked with a female villain called Blacksmith in her plan to takeover Keystone and Central City. When her plan failed, he became a member of Captain Cold's gang. Interestingly enough, Evan also battles an addiction to cocaine, although he seemed to have sobered up since the death of Captain Boomerang.
McCulloch subsequently joined Alexander Luthor's Secret Society after the Rogue War. But, during the Infinite Crisis subplot, Mirror Master fought in the final deciding battle and was defeated by Martian Manhunter. Shown in the One Year Later subplot, Evan is no longer a useful villain, being totally addicted to cocaine. Sad.
