The most talked about topics recently, and probably for the rest of the year, and the beginning of next year, is Warner Bros. and their probable adaptation of Justice League of America. This is the movie to end all movies. This is the mother of all super-hero movies.
But I'm going to do something totally out of habit for The House Of El - and just report a few rumors here and there. But, blogging rumors is not something we condone here in The House Of El; don't let that be forgotten.
The first rumor we've heard is that Happy Feet director George Miller is reportedly attached to this upcoming movie.
Reports have said that the superhero team-up movie would include Batman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern. And that casting for the movie would start next week. On top of that Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) and Brandon Routh (Superman, Superman: Man of Steel) would not be involved.
Movie watchdogs say that the movie might be a CGI/performance capture project, much like The Polar Express, and the upcoming Beowulf and Avatar.
The company, Imageworks, are apparently in the running to provide services on the JLA film, competing with two other companies, R&H and possibly WETA (based in New Zealand, and famous for King Kong effects).
But the real interesting thing is that the contract is for an all-cgi 'photo-real' motion capture movie, like the upcoming Beowulf. Expect Justice League of America to go into production early 2008, if everything goes smoothly. I can't wait.
