Distracting the enemy from his unprotected head by targeting his armored torso is not only the answer to last weeks poll but is a carefully planned strategy that has proven to criminals time and time again that the Punisher is more than just muscles and guns. He is a man on a mission; a very resourceful vigilante with a sharp mind.

Captain Frank Castle, a born warrior who was inducted into the Marines rose to prominence early in his military career and would you have doubted him? Let’s see…a former U.S Marine Captain who has undergone hardcore training by S.E.A.L (Sea, Air & Land), U.D.T (Underwater Demolition Team) and LRPA (Long Range Patrol). A master in multiple hand to hand combat techniques and trained in the use of high-tech weaponry. A soldier who’s distinguished service in Vietnam led to being awarded 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Silver Stars and 4 Purple Hearts. A family man who believed his role in the military allowed him to protect his nation and ultimately his family. No, I certainly would not have doubted his capabilities.

[Unethical]

The Punisher, an anti-hero of sorts, is revered by the public who crave “Hard Justice” through revenge and other methods that may seem immoral at times. It is in this aspect that he can be compared with Batman. Both have experienced personal loss and tragedy on a scale that can never be imagined by most people. Both have been successful in their personal quests for revenge by sinking to the darkest depths of morality. Both have had their operations assisted as well as disrupted by superheroes. Despite declaring war on crime in all its forms anywhere he can find it, the Punisher operates mainly in New York which has led to frequent encounters with Spider-Man and Daredevil. He views them both as being annoyances but has teamed up with Spider-Man on a few occasions.

[Punisher Says Smile]

Daredevil on the other hand has clashed with the Punisher repeatedly as the lawyer from Hells Kitchen truly believes in the American Legal System while the Punisher has fought wars for his country only to find the very people he fought for have failed miserably in bringing his family’s killers to justice. Like Spider-Man, there is no crime too small for him to ignore but unlike Spider-Man, the consequences are always severe. So think twice before stealing that Mars Bar from your local corner shop, or you just might end up with a hollow point in your head. Thanks to all who tried the poll and good luck with the next one!
