Teen Titans Too

Written by GL

My gosh! In all honesty, how many comic-to-films have been announced since this little blog got started. I'll tell you how many: a lot. And there's even more to come.

Word from The Hollywood Reporter has just come out that the DC Comics' superteam Teen Titans is getting the big-screen treatment courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures.

The live-action adaptation is being produced by Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster through their Weed Road production company, while Mark Verheiden has been brought on board to write the script.

The Teen Titans, which first appeared in 1964, are comprised of Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl and Speedy, the respective sidekicks of A-list heroes Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Green Arrow.

The comic series reached X-Men-style success in the 1980s, when the team was relaunched in a new comic with the characters no longer kids but college-age adults and the stories explored more mature themes. The series also saw the addition of Cyborg, Starfire and Raven, original characters who weren't sidekicks, while the character of Robin matured into one called Nightwing.

Most recently, the comic was adapted to the television screen with a Cartoon Network series that ran from 2003-06 that used many of the 80s comic-heroes and story lines.

It is not known which heroes will be used, but Nightwing is said to be in the mix.

Goldsman said the tone will be consistent with such recent Warners' comic book fare as Batman Begins, Superman Returns and the upcoming Watchmen.

Verheiden was a writer-producer on Smallville and is a writer-producer on Battlestar Galactica.

You heard it. Prepare for the Teen Titans.

Superman Vs Doomsday

Written by GL

All my life, I have always wanted to attend at least one awesome comic convention. The only problem with these events is that they're always held in far-away places, like the States, which makes it a little harder for little village people like me. One of the millions of reasons to attend a comic con would be to just gaze at all the amazing action figures on display - I wonder how I would be able to stop myself from splurging all my money away. Another reason would be to catch awesome new releases - like Superman vs. Doomsday.

Comic Con International will be premiering Superman vs. Doomsday in a no-holds-barred fight to the finish! And Comic-Con attendees get to see it first, almost two whole months before it debuts on DVD!

I repeat: it is the world premiere of the eagerly awaited first-ever DC Universe animated movie from DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation. Produced by Bruce Timm (Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Animated Series) and written by Duane Capizzi (The Batman), Superman vs. Doomsday is inspired by the best-selling graphic novel of all time, DC's The Death of Superman. The complete 70+ minute movie will be shown along with a panel featuring the film's creators. Superman vs. Doomsday features the voices of Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Serenity) as Superman, Anne Heche (Men In Trees) as Lois Lane, and James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Lex Luthor, and is rated PG-13.

Producer and animation legend Bruce Timm talked about this new film:

CCI: How did the PG-13 rating and the extended time impact the way you told the Superman Doomsday story?

BT: We had done direct-to-video features before, so that wasn't a major issue in terms of the length. The PG-13 thing was interesting. Honestly, on Justice League and pretty much all of our shows, we really hadn't been trying to limit the kinds of stories we've been telling just for a kid audience. We always had to keep in mind that our core demographic was 6-11 year-olds. At the same time, however, in our hearts we were actually making the shows for ourselves.

So here, knowing that we're actually going for a much more adult tone across the board, and not being worried about being restricted to kid friendly subject matter, it was actually quite liberating. And in a weird kind of way, we actually found ourselves almost having to force ourselves to "age-up" some of the story elements, because our first couple of pitches on the storyline, everybody kept saying, 'Well this is fine, but it still doesn't seem any more extreme than what you could get in an episode of Justice League.'

CCI: In Superman Doomsday, you're telling an epic story that was serialized over many comics. Which elements can fans expect to see?

BT: It follows the basic structure of the entire story arc (The Death of Superman, World Without A Superman and The Return of Superman). The first third of the movie pretty much covers up to the actual death of Superman storyline pretty closely, with certain modifications just because of time limits or whatever.

From that point on, it stays true to the structure of the storyline but a lot of the details had to be changed. Again, because of the short amount of time we had to tell the entire story. It's tough to talk about without spoiling it, but you're definitely going to see some of the most giant scale brutal battle scenes that we've ever done in animation, both at the beginning and end of the movie.

The core emotional heart of the story is basically seen through Lois' eyes, but in the second and third acts, the main part of the story is how did the world react to the loss of Superman.

CCI: Are there other DC heroes in it?

BT: No. We were pretty much treating this as if it was a stand-alone Superman movie, not connected to any other continuity. Superman is the only hero in this movie. It just makes the story stronger and more focused.

What's In The Dark Knight's Garage?

Written by GL

As the viral marketing and rockin' rumors for the closely watched and awaited Dark Knight movie comes slowly creeping out, Kal-el and I are right there to keep our ears to the ground. These are the latest possible scoops so far (and keep in mind; rumors are always rumors):

  • The Bat-cycle WILL be in the film, and will look similar to the Tumbler (from Batman Begins) style-wise. They have build ten of these for various purposes.
  • They are planning on having the Bat-cycle emerge from the Tumbler. The use of CGI may be incorporated to make it happen.
  • Two Lamborginis were provided for the film and will be completely destroyed during filming.
  • Whether official or not, the Joker's get-away vehicle is always referred to as The Clown Car, and there are several of these built. Who knows - it may have a few tricks up its sleeve.
  • Nothing yet about a new Batmobile.

Be The First To See Bumblebee

If you haven't already heard Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg will be bringing Transformers onto the big screen. The world premiere for this show will be at the Taormina Film Fest. The premiere would represent the first time a major U.S. film of that status premiered at the 53-year-old Taormina event.

Michael Bay, several cast members and executives from Paramount Pictures will arrive by helicopter in an elaborate ceremony before the June 21 screening. The movie itself opens around the world only on July 4.

That, my friends, is how you could be the first to catch this much-awaited show before the rest of the world. By the way, Taormina is located on the Italian island of Sicily. I think the Air Asia website might be your next stop from here.

The Fantastic Cartoon

Written by GL

If Fantastic Four: The Rise Of The Silver Surfer turns out to be a hit to your taste buds, wait till you get a load of this: Fantastic Four is coming back to Cartoon Network.

Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, the animated television series on Cartoon Network is the fourth overall series based on Marvel Comics' hit series. The series combines two-dimensional art and three-dimensional computer animation produced by the France-based animation company Moonscoop. The show premiered on September 2, 2006 as part of Toonami, but was pulled from the schedule in November 2006. According to Taffy Entertainment (who distributes the series), the show will return to Cartoon Network in June 2007 and all 26 episodes will be aired. Presumably, this was planned to take advantage of the release of the upcoming super foursome movie.

A DVD release of the first few episodes was released on March 27, 2007 so get it if you dare call yourself a fan.

I have done some random checking on the Astro schedules here in Brunei and no news has come out about the airing of the cartoon just yet. But, I do recommend that all you fans check back on the Astro website this coming month.

What Ever Happened To Plastic Man?

Written by GL

Many of us may have seen hints of Plastic Man, especially when considering the Justice League. Plastic Man can be assumed to be a little known character. I mean, hardly anyone is a fan, and even less people claim to recognized him as a member of the League. He doesn't have that macho exterior, he is never drawn as a stern fella, and his costume look like a swim suit from the 50s. So, what ever happened to him?

Plastic Man had been a crook named Patrick 'Eel' O'Brian. He was shot by a security guard and struck by a falling drum of unidentified acid, some of which entered Eel's gunshot wound. He was saved by a mysterious order of monks who cured his desire for crime. The acid bath, however, gave him the ability to change his shape into anything - well, plastic. He wore dark glasses and a red-and-yellow costume as flexible as his body. Yet whatever shape he took, the colors of his costume remained the same.

Plastic Man soon acquired a sidekick named Woozy Winks, a man originally magically enchanted so that nature itself would protect him from harm. But Woozy eventually faded from modern comic plots and became simply a slapstick, comedic, loyal friend of Plastic Man.

There were at least 3 different Plastic Men portrayed in various appearances during his origins. Originally, the Plastic Man series in the 1960s tied in the son of the original - who was part of a group called the Inferior Five, identified as living on Earth-Twelve. A subsequent version appeared with Batman in Brave and the Bold and Justice League of America; yet he was identified as a character from Earth-One. Later on, Quality Comics specified another Plastic Man as being a member of various groups including the All-Star Squadron and Freedom Fighters, originally of Earth-Two (and they later moved to Earth-X). This version died during an extended period of World War II while on Earth-X.

If you haven't got a headache yet, we can move on. Because something happened that changed all that. It was called Infinite Crisis - which marked the destruction of all the different Earths, leaving only on true one existing. That was a better idea than leaving it all at the above paragraph.

This is the revamped origin:

In the 1988-1989 Plastic Man miniseries, the monks were eliminated from Plastic Man's appearance. Instead, Eel O'Brian, abandoned by his criminal gang after being shot and exposed to the chemical, wandered the streets as his new powers developed, frightening others and bringing the police and National Guard down on him as a dangerous monster. Eel was at first oblivious of the changes to his body, but after realizing what he was able to do went about using his new abilities to escape his detection, but soon became so depressed over his new condition that he attempted suicide by jumping off a bridge.

Fortunately, he was interrupted by Woozy Winks, a former mental patient kicked out of an institution due to lack of funding (or as Woozy put it, "something called Reaganomics"), who desired nothing more than to return to the warm safety of a straitjacket and padded room. Eel and Woozy decided to work together and capitalize on Eel's new powers to make their fortunes (Eel wanting to get rich quick, Woozy just wanting his "old room" back), but couldn't decide whether there was more money in crime or crime-fighting, and so flipped a coin to choose. Eel ended up with the name Plastic Man after a reporter misinterpreted his first choice, Elastic Man, and with Woozy, the two set up a detective agency in New York City.

The retcon that Plastic Man was initially a superhero for money has affected his character development post-Crisis, notably in a JLA storyline where he, along with other Justice League members, was physically separated into two people: his 'civilian' identity and his superhero persona. While Plastic Man devolved from a person with a sense of humor into a constantly wisecracking idiot, the 'normal' Eel O'Brian struggled with the criminal tendencies he had suppressed as he had become comfortable with his role as a superhero, and wondered if he had actually changed for the better or if it had all been part of the superhero act. Ultimately, Eel became the driving force behind the other transformed Leaguers banding together to re-join with their superheroic selves.

After the Our Worlds at War crossover, the Justice Leaguers are sent back in time to ancient Atlantis before its initial sinking into the ocean. Though the Leaguers were killed in battle, they were brought back to life in modern times thanks to Manitou Raven's magical powers and Kyle Rayner's Oan power ring, which had preserved the Leaguers' souls. Absent from this battle was Plastic Man, who had been torn apart and his pieces spread throughout the seas. After reassembling, Eel declared that he had been conscious throughout the thousands of years of formlessness, and immediately removed himself from the team.

Sometime afterward, Eel had himself hypnotized so that he could not remember that he and his son have superpowers. His time as a dedicated father was cut short when Martian Manhunter evolves into the fiery being known as Fernus. Batman and Eel's son convince Eel that he is the only person who can counter the telepath Fernus and save the world, with the revelation that Plastic Man's brain is as inorganic as his form and cannot be controlled telepathically.

In the One Year Later DC Comics crossover storyline that followed the Infinite Crisis crossover, a young man with similar appearance and powers as Plastic Man appears briefly in the superteam series Teen Titans Vol. 3, #34. The character wears a white costume with red goggles, similar to that of Offspring, Plastic Man's son (from the earlier DC miniseries titled The Kingdom). While the Teen Titans story itself does not identify the character, page two of a published script specifies it is Plastic Man’s son, Offspring.

And that, my friends, is as far as the Plastic Man storyline goes. The character's life is as twisty as his arms, and it seems to continue on. Come to think of it really, I haven't seen a comic in a long time. I guess what's really important is that we gained a little bit of knowledge about the superheroes, even though we are still left with the question of what ever happened to Plastic Man?

The Stark Tower

Written by Kal-El

We all know that Tony Stark is Iron Man, but sometimes we do forget that this multi billionaire also owns a lot of interesting assets, one of which involves The Avengers Headquarters, today on our info piece, we will jump into the Stark Tower.

It is a high rised building, only to be named after its owner Tony Stark; it was constructed believe it or not, not to long ago, 2005, and has serves as the headquarters of the Marvel's elusive team, The New Avengers.

Built over a period of four years, it is an example of modern architecture. The top three floors were to be Stark's new home, but when the new Avengers were founded, he gave it to the team as a gift, to be their home when they needed it, and to be a meeting place and base of operations. Just like the Avengers Mansion Stark Tower is suited with state-of-the-art technology and an extravagant interior, including hanging portraits in memory of the former Avengers cover art.

When the team came together in this place, his well-known butler, Edwin Jarvis was welcomed back to his longtime position as caretaker for the team. In the wake of the passing of the Superhuman Registration Act, Stark Tower acted as the base of operations for the government task force led by Iron Man and charged with enforcing the Act.

The place where it stands now was the former site of The Sentry's Watchtower before he erased the entire world's memory of him. When the Sentry recovered from his "mental virus", the Watchtower installed itself atop Stark Tower, convincing Tony Stark that it was fate that really brought them together.

Heroes now dine and wine in a great big sanctuary with heavy artillery under their pillow.

Peek-A-Boo!

Today at USA Today has revealed a new image of what we all like to think as the Joker Minions or could be the Joker himself, Taken from the Movie Batman Sequel: The Darknight, Here is more updates on the Movie progress. PIcture is taken from USA Today.

All directors promise that their sequels will be bigger and flashier than the predecessors'. But Christopher Nolan doesn't mess around.

The director's sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, will become the first feature film to be partly shot in the IMAX format, an expensive and cumbersome process that typically is the province of documentaries and short films. Nolan will shoot four action sequences including the introduction of the Joker, played by Heath Ledger on IMAX.

The move is one of Hollywood's most pronounced steps yet in its embrace of IMAX theaters, which are increasingly showing commercial fare on their giant screens.

"There's simply nothing like seeing a movie that way," Nolan says. "It's more immersive for the audience. I wish I could shoot the entire thing this way."

Next X Men Generation Movie

Written by Kal-El

Little do we know at this moment, but Movie producers and writers are currently busy writting up storylines for the next generations of Xmen movies to come, here's a little update on Xmen movies told by Tom Roth from Fox Television.

While he doesn't specifically say that there will be an X-Men 4, Fox's Tom Rothman has responded to the many e-mails and letters from fans about further "X-Men" movies. The note at TheXVerse.com reads:

The next film in the X-Men series will be "Wolverine," starring Hugh Jackman. You can expect some announcements about this movie in the very near future. And we fully intend to continue to make more "X-Men" films with both old and new muties. So fans can rest assured that they will have many opportunities in the coming years to see their favorite characters on the big screen.

The other spinoff in the works is Magneto. In related news, Rebecca Romijn was asked by MTV if she'd heard anything about either spinoff. She hasn't.

Patience is all we need X Men fans, so stay tuned.

The Incredible Hulk Interview's Louis Leterrier

Q: When we last talked, you mentioned your dream of directing a major science fiction movie. Do you consider your dream achieved now that you’re directing Hulk 2?

A: Overachieved. I truly realize the great opportunity I have been given. In the actual state of pre-production, I can make the movie I really want.

Q: How is it going between you, Marvel and Avi Arad?

A: Marvelously. And what’s extraordinary about Marvel, and more since they became independent, is that they are motivated people who want to make a good movie and are always looking for ideas to make it better. That’s the reason Ang Lee and Eric Bana were in the first movie. They are not the kind of people that obviously come to mind for making a production like this but are genuine artists that could elevate Hulk to something more than just a simple action film and, in my opinion, achieved it. Marvel gave them creative freedom, like they did with Sam Raimi on Spider-Man when hiring Tobey Maguire. Don't get me wrong, I would never compare myself to theses guys, that would be out of place, but now I better understand the pleasure they had making these movies the way they wanted.

Q: Have you already selected your actors?

A: I have some ideas. I can tell you that they are not people you expect to see in these kinds of movies. Marvel and I agree on this and they consider that the movie doesn’t need an action hero like Bruce Willis or Tom Cruise.

Q: What can you tell us about the story?

A: In fact, it’s the story that convinced me. The first time they contacted me, I was very hesitant. They came back because they loved Unleashed. We met and they told me about the story. I must admit, it took me 30 minutes to say yes. As a moviegoers and a fan of the character, they were handing me something I always dreamed to see on the big screen. It won’t be a sequel to Ang Lee’s film but it won’t be a remake or a re-imagining either. It will be a new adventure with different characters, new intrigue, new monsters. We will quickly get to the heart of the story because I think people know the character and I don’t want to shoot 45 minutes to get to the first Hulk-out or about the reasons that make him a monster. The first movie had a lot of Bruce Banner’s story and a little of Hulk’s. This one will be 50/50.

Q: Rumor has it that you convinced everybody when you showed storyboards of two completely wild scenes that didn’t have anything to do with the original script. Is it true?

A: It’s Stéphane Levallois who works with me on the artistic direction of the film. Stéphane is an exceptional artist, rare and complete, and this movie needs his eye. As you must expect, I won’t tell you what those scenes are about but if I manage to put them on screen the way I imagined them, they’re going to be quite good. Avi Arad’s reaction was what I hoped for. He and his partners had never seen something like that in a movie and naturally wanted to have it in their own (laughs). And then we come back to the creative freedom we have been given; they changed the script to put those scenes in.

Q: Lastly, what can we expect of the character’s design? Will you use the same as the previous movie?

A: No, he will be truly different. It’s in Stéphane Levallois’ hands. If you only take the face, it needs to be redesigned for the SFX , on one hand, but also because the first Hulk had a lot of Eric Bana. And if we’re going to have a different actor for Banner, the Hulk must also be different. Also, I don’t want to have a 45 feet tall Hulk that gets bigger when he gets madder. I don’t want to make Godzilla. This Hulk will be 9 feet tall and his height won’t change. I see this character as a tortured soul, prisoner of his superpowers and always on the run by fear of hurting others. If I need to state any references, I’d say mostly Jeckyl and Hyde, Frankenstein and even Edward Scissorhands.

Keep up to date for more Hulk Movie updates.

Old School Still Cool

Written by GL

Many would say that there has never ever been a good Wonder Woman cast on television. But I would say that that's all myth. There has. And she was Lynda Carter; and luckily for the fans who know of her, Big Bad Toy Store has immortalized her.

The 13” Wonder Woman Lynda Carter Statue is a cold-cast porcelain idol with a star-insignia pedestal base (check it out pictured above). The likeness is totally accurate, recreating the beauty of an Amazon who actually made Wonder Woman cool for television. Now, in statue tribute, she stands in place, her mystic golden lasso in hand ready to save your unworthy behind.

Weighing in at 3.99 pounds, the detail and painting is amazing (especially the gold-paint coating of Lynda's tiara). Wonder Woman's costume is accurate to the good old days television show and make this piece a worthwhile addition any origins-themed collector.

The Wonder Woman Lynda Carter 13" statue is priced at US$169.99 or B$259.58. The powers of Hera aren't cheap.

The Parkers

Written by GL

It seems that we have an even split here. Thanks to all who tried their luck with this one; it is a very little know fact who Peter Parker's parents really are. Peter Parker is, in fact, the one and only son of Richard and Mary Parker. Captain Richard Parker and Mary Fitzpatrick had been agents in the organization that many of us know as S.H.I.E.L.D.

They were secret agents who went on a number of missions for the organization (in one comic-plot they were also the agents that freed a little known fella by the name of Logan a.k.a. Wolverine) - and were assassinated on the job.

Richard Parker had a brother named Ben, and Ben married May Reilly Parker - the raising guardians of your friendly neighborhood buddy.

Give Me Sin

Written by GL

A company called Red Mile Entertainment, Inc. today announced it has entered into a multi-year, worldwide license agreement to develop and to publish video games based on the Sin City series of graphic novels by writer/artist and film director Frank Miller (the man behind several Dark Knight spin offs).

The winner of multiple awards in its comic-book and graphic-novel forms, Sin City got even greater public awareness with the 2005 release of the successful Frank Miller's Sin City live-action feature film (you may remember the above seen of Jess Alba, not that it's that exciting really).

'Sin City enjoys a broad and devoted following. Its crime-noir settings, richly detailed characters, hyper-real action sequences, and engaging stories provide an outstanding groundwork for video games,' said Chester Aldridge, CEO of Red Mile Entertainment. 'Red Mile is enthusiastic about working with Frank Miller to create a franchise that is worthy of this great property.'

'Taking Sin City into the world of video games is very exciting - games offer a whole new way to bring audiences into Sin City', said Frank Miller. 'The Red Mile team has impressed me with its dedication to creating Sin City video games that will remain true to Sin City as I've always seen it.'

We'll keep you all posted on the developments on this project as time goes on. And no, I don't think you'll be able to play as Jessica Alba in a cowboy stripper costume.

And if you haven't heard of it or seen any episodes then I suggest you get to searching for where you could get your hands on the series soon. Be Prepared To Be Silver

Written by GL

These days, super-movies like Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer are almost guaranteed to be released with a video game to enhance and expand the experience of seeing your favorite characters brought to life.

Visual Concepts are the developers of the Rise of the Silver Surfer video game (actual game image picture above). The team also got to visit the movie sets on numerous occasions and were given full access to all pre-production artwork, 3D models and special effects information. Published by 2K Games and available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS, Rise of the Silver Surfer hits stores June 15, the same day as the film.

Relying on each of the four members' unique abilities, players can smash, crash and bash their way through fully destructible environments. That kind of freedom is going to be nice, because this game is full of nasty enemies. Guaranteed Dr. Doom is going to make life extremely difficult (as usual) for players. And the Silver Surfer too is sure to provide players with some incredible visuals as well as unique gameplay opportunities. "We wanted to make a rich, varied experience for the fans and chose villains who are both some of the most infamous bad guys the Fantastic Four have faced, but they also had to fit within our plot line," said the head developer from Visual Concepts.

Rise of the Silver Surfer The Video Game offers players the chance to go toe-to-toe with enemies who aren't in the feature film, like...

The Skrulls, a race taken straight from the pages of the comics, get paid a visit on their home planet by the FF, a decision that brought some unique opportunities. The Super Skrull actually exhibits all of the Fantastic Four's powers; he can stretch attack, he flies, he can launch huge energy and firebomb attacks, turn invisible and can cause a shock-wave by slamming his fist into the ground. However, he's also an incredibly cool boss. Himalayan rock monsters, whether in their more vicious humanoid form (complete with rock-sword arms and shurikens) or their simpler pile-of-granite look, can also be found.

Ivan Kragoff, former cosmonaut and current psychopath going by the name Red Ghost brings an unwelcome element to the battlefield in the form of his army of intelligent Super Apes. Players are guessed to have the most fun fighting are Red Ghost's Super Apes.

Digging even deeper into the Galactus storyline than the movie, developers give comic fans a chance to fight another cosmic-powered herald of Galactus, Terrax the Tamer. With a giant axe and a penchant for manipulating rocks, Terrax is a formidable foe.

So after you see the movie and your thirst for intergalactic justice hasn't been quenched, pop in your copy of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - The Video Game and see if you have the mustard to go against all this baddies mentioned above.

Written by GL

Obviously, the soon-coming Transformers movie is hitting the globe like an alien robot invasion. The hype for movies nowadays is simply amazing, and the speed at which hype travels and is translated around the world is just too fast to comprehend.

Taiwan is obviously ready for the release with their own poster revamp featuring Optimus 'Tha Mack' Prime, 'Big Bad' Megatron and Bumble 'Everyone's Favourite' Bee. Also pictured in the newly released poster are stars Josh Duhamel, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox.

And if you already don't know (and you can't read Taiwanese), Transformers is coming on July 4.

He-Man makes a comback to the Big Screen

Written by Kal-El

Do you guys remember He-Man : Masters of the Universe?

Of Course you would, This 80's Hero from Mattel had made several incarnations of it, whether its Movie wise or cartoons. I Know he is not in the league of any comic superheroes, but i guess for the sake of Nostalgia, i'm gonna add in stuff regarding He-Man, and since Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver are working with Mattel to turn "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" into a live-action film, reports Variety. Justin Marks is set to write the script. Silver will produce the movie.

Can you imagine, with what effects Hollywood will be able to do with the graphics or demons that might spawned up here by the Skeletor. It would be a great deal compare it to the old previous movies, The series became a cult favorite, but the brand was hardly helped by its first big screen incarnation, the campy 1987 flop Masters of the Universe that starred Dolph Lundgren as the title character and Frank Langella as his nemesis Skeletor.

He-Man was born as a Mattel action figure, and the toymaker created an animated series in hopes of selling dolls. The franchise has been reimagined by the producer and the writers and pitched to Mattel as a classic good vs. evil battle, using the kind of visual effects strategy employed in 300. A warrior is touted as the last hope of a magical land called Eternia, which is being ravaged by technology and the evil Skeletor.

Many of the characters will be informed by the mythology created in the four different cartoon series done since the 1980s.

Stay tune for many other updates here at The House of El.

iPods, Roll Out !

Written by GL

If the digi-cam pictured above can change like a midget Autobot, movie gossipers say that you might just watch an iPod doing the same thing, Transformers star Josh Duhamel revealed.

'The Transformer that will steal all the scenes I would say is this little iPod thing,' he said. 'It’s pretty cool.' Although he didn’t mention it by name, it’s possible he was talking about the Soundwave, one of the coolest Generation 1 Decepticons who, in the original cartoon, changes from a large robot into a tape deck. While the design might have seemed cutting edge in 1985, a tape deck wouldn’t fit into the hyper-modern environment of the Michael Bay movie.

But just because he’s small, that doesn’t mean this Transformer will be a tiny side-line character 'It’s like this crazy little 12-inch iPod that turns into this little killing machine,' he said. Now that's a scary thought.

The hype is totally building for this movie and I have a feeling we won't be disappointed.

The Watchtower

Nestled Amid the cratered lunar surface is the Justice League's latest and most advanced HQ. The JLA first convened in the "Secret Sanctuary", a mountain cavern near Happy Habour, Rhode Island. Soon, security concerns forced the team to relocate to a satelite orbiting 22,300 miles above the Earth. The league later made it's home in "The Bunker", an armory buried beneath an abandoned factory in Detroit, Michigan. More recent incarnations of the Team were based in unassuming embassies, including New York City, Paris, and even Antartic sites. These days, the JLA holds court in the Watchtower, a fortress erected in the Moon's Mare Serenitatis "The Sea of Serenity". Have a look at the image above by clicking on it to enlarge photo.

Assassin’s claws

Written by Kal-El
We all know she was probably the hottest lady villain in X-Men 2 Movie played by Kelly Hu next to the Silky Sexy Smooth Mystique, She may not have to ability to Shape Shift or transform to any human as a disguise. But she sure could put up a good fight with Wolverine. We take a look on what is the story behind Lady Deathstrike’s origins this week.

Ladydeath Strike or also known as Yuriko Oyama, daughter of a Japanese crime lord and criminal scientist named Kenji Oyama also known as Lord Dark Wind, who manages to create the process by which adamantium that could be bonded to the body’s bone itself. Her father was a former Japanese Kamikaze pilot during World War II who failed suicide attack mission on an American battleship. Feeling shamed by his failure decades earlier, he scarred the faces of Yuriko and her two brothers in a ritual design. Her two brother would later die while in the service of their father.

Yuriko once teamed up with Matt Murdock (To whom we know as The Man without Fear Daredevil) to free her lover, Kiro, from her father’s servitude, and to have vengeance for her scarring and for the death of her two brothers. During battle with her father, Yuriko slew her own father when Lord Dark Wind was just about to kill Daredevil; the devoted Kiro chose suicide to honor his Master.

Distraught by Fear, Yuriko belatedly embraced her Father’s ideals and went off to hunt down whoever dishonored him. The trail had led to Wolverine, whose skeleton had been bonded with adamantium. Lady Deathstrike vowed to kill Logan to right the wrong of the theft and thus restore her Family’s honor. Yuriko initiated the attack, but failed as Wolverine has defeated Yuriko. Yuriko then went to the Mojoverse and Spiral’s “Body Shoppe” where she had received and extensive cybernetic enhancements including adamantium bones and talons.

Lady Deathstrike is a cyborg with superhuman strength, speed and agility. Deathstrike's skeleton has been infused with adamantium, rendering her skeletal structure practically unbreakable. Initially, it was a mystery as to how Deathstrike survived this process, as it is generally believed that without a healing factor, the process would be fatal to a human.

Lady Deathstrike was once a member of the team of Criminal Cyborgs called The Reavers, led by Donald Pierce, who once had managed to successfully defeat the X- Men. The Reavers have since been annihilated by a Squad attack from the Sentinels, ever since then Yuriko has been operating independently.

Although her main quest in life is to kill Logan, but often times had worked corporately with the X-Men towards a common goal as she did in X-Men Annual 2000, for which they were to defeat Stryfe. In an encounter with Logan shortly after Magneto removed the adamantium from his skeleton, Lady Deathstrike nearly defeated him, but ended the fight upon seeing his bone claws. As Logan no longer possessed the adamantium stolen from her father, she felt there was no honor to be gained by killing him. However she still remains a mercenary and assassin. Despite all this, Yuriko is set apart from many of the X-Men's foes in that she adheres to an honor code, despite being emotionally disturbed.

Lady Deathstrike resurfaced again in 2003 as an ally of William Stryker in the "God Loves, Man Kills II" story arc in X-Treme X-Men for which possibly done as a tie-in to Kelly Hu's character and allegiance in the X-Men 2 movie. She displayed a new ability to access the Internet via her cybernetics but this led to her being co-opted and controlled by Mount Haven's computer systems.

Deathstrike was responsible for mutilating and nearly killing Sunfire, whose legs she severed in battle. Dying, he had Rogue absorb his powers so she could battle Lady Deathstrike. The X-Men later went to see where Sunfire's body had been left, only to see it had disappeared. He later resurfaced as one of the new Horsemen of Apocalypse.

Deathstrike has since resurfaced as a member of one of the United States government's New Thunderbolts in the super hero Civil War, temporarily released from prison in order to go after the Secret Avengers, who resisted the Superhuman Registration Act. She fights alongside other criminals such as Venom, Jester, Bullseye, Jack O'Lantern, Taskmaster and Songbird. She participates in the final battle of the Civil War in Times Square, New York, before being sent to the Negative Zone Prison once again.

Let's just leave her alone there for now...Who knows where she would re-surface again.

Reign of Steel

Written By Kal-El

Most of us does not know alot about a guy named John Henry Irons. John Henry Irons, a much lesser of an attention superhero, was a brilliant weapons engineer for Amertek Industries, who eventually became disgusted when the BG-60, a powerful man-portable energy cannon he had designed, fell into the wrong hands and was used to kill innocent people. As the company would have coerced him to retain his services, John faked his death, and eventually came to Metropolis.

While working a construction job high up on a skyscraper, he fell off while saving a friend from the same fate. His own life was saved by none other than , the man of steel, Superman. When John Irons asked how he could show his gratitude, Superman told him to "live a life worth saving." During Superman's fatal battle against Doomsday, Irons attempted to help Superman fight deadly menace by picking up a sledge hammer, but was buried in rubble amidst the devastation. Shortly after Superman's death, he finally awoke and crawled from the wreckage, confused and saying that he "must stop Doomsday."

He recovered, but to discover that the gangs in inner-city Metropolis (now unopposed by Superman) were fighting a devastating gang war using BG-80 Toastmasters, an upgraded version of his earlier Amertek design. Irons created and donned a suit of powered armor in Superman's memory in order to stop the war, as well as the weapons, which were being distributed by Dr. Angora Lapin, a former partner and lover of his during his time at Amertek Industries.

During the famous storyline of "Reign of the Supermen" , he was often called the "Man of Steel" to identify him in contrast to the other Supermen, which was shortened to "Steel" by Superman himself. This has meant a lot of honour for John Henry Irons to received such Status given by Superman.

Interestingly enough, although "Steel" never claimed to be the "true Superman", Lois Lane seriously considered the possibility that he was a "walk-in" , for someone who was now inhabited by Superman's soul. Lois met all four "Supermen" that appeared after the apparent death of Superman, and while she never concluded that any of them was the one true Superman, she evoked less skepticisim of Steel than she did of the others.

Shortly After the Return of Superman, Steel then had left Metropolis and return home to Washington, D.C., which he revealed it had been five years since he had left. He erroneously believed that his old employers, Amertek, would no longer be interested in him. This turned out to be false when they attacked his home (presumably for destroying their property back when he faked his death). Between this attack and his knowledge that the Toastmasters were now being used on the streets of D.C. he reforged his armor (it was now stronger than ever) and began his crusade against Amertek, which he correctly knew was responsible for leaking the weapons onto the street. Steel decided not to use the "S" emblem, however, since he felt that his battle might take him outside the law.

Steel's early adventures pit him against Amertek and against the gangs that are using his weapons. His nephew Jemahl is involved in one of the gangs, which he thinks offers him protection. He is proven wrong, however, when the gangs turn against him to get to Steel. Tyke (another Nephew) was paralyzed by a bullet meant for Jemahl and Blondell is assaulted. Steel eventually takes down Amertek and the gangs and focuses on who was helping Amertek distribute the weapons. This leads him to track down a group called BLACK Ops lead by the villain Hazard.

Steel briefly joined up with Maxima, who was still on Earth at the time and working with the Justice League, to help her with an alien warlord named De'cine. During this time, Steel developed the ability to teleport his armor onto and off himself. At first, it appeared purely by reflex (whenever he was in mortal danger) but he soon began to better control it, although he had no idea how it happened.

Steel continued his battle against Hazard's BLACK Ops and against the return of the White Rabbit. A bounty hunter named Chindi attempted to take down Steel, but after realizing Hazard was experimenting with children, he ended up as an ally of Irons. He was called away from Earth as part of the Superman "Rescue Squad" when Superman was put on trial for the destruction of Krypton.

Steel learns that the three BLACK Ops agents were not truly killed. They briefly join him in battling a monstrous, animated form of his armor that attacks him. Steel speculates that the armor came alive because of his own guilt and the strange teleportation effects. He manages to banish the monster and recall his true armor.

Steel relocated to Jersey City with Natasha and began to work at a hospital. He built a new suit of armor that was significantly less powerful than the previous one (but one that featured the return of an "S" shield on it). His adventures in Jersey City are pretty mundane, despite the change in direction (which, in addition to a job, also included a love interest). The series featured the return of his brother, Clay, who was a hitman that everyone assumed had been killed. Clay assumed the alias "Crash" and managed to acquire a pair of Steel's flightboots before turning himself in so that he could save his daughter, Nat, when she needed a blood transfusion. The series was cancelled with issue #52 which featured Steel running the hospital after the unmasking of its previous coordinator, Dr. Villain.

Around the time of Steel's cancellation, he was recruited as a member of the Justice League. He stayed on as a supporting member for quite some time. He also became a regular member in the Superman comics. Having relocated with Nat to Metropolis to run his own workshop there, called "Steelworks." He also revealed at this time that he had known Superman's identity for some time. The two became partners of a sort and John Henry helped Superman build a new Fortress of Solitude.

Steel retired from active duty after he was injured while wearing the Entropy Aegis, an alien armor created on the evil planet,
Apokolips, which nearly consumed his "soul".

Now during his retirement, Irons made a suit of armor for his niece Natasha Irons, who became the new Steel. Although he was no longer actively fighting crime, he remained an important ally of Superman. He unintentionally usurped the position of Emil Hamilton (Former worker of STAR Labs) as Superman's technology guru, one of several developments that led to the emergence of Ruin.

With hope, The Irons 'Steel ' Legacy will goes on...

Start Your Consoles & Roll Out

Written by GL

It's fairly easy to guess that following the release of the highly anticipated movie, Transformers: The Game was bound to show up on the radar. Set for release on the PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii consoles and PCs across the globe, Transformers: The Game is directly based on the 2007 movie. Two games entitled Autobots and Decepticons are also to be available on the Nintendo DS.

Activision and Traveller's Tales are currently developing the game, which allows people to play as either one of nine Autobot or Decepticons in different stories depending on the side they choose, including characters that are not in the film. The PSP edition allows 20 playable characters.

The gameplay consists of free roaming action adventure which will include (in no particular order) racing, flying, combat, shooting and exploration - which means hours of super-fun destruction and running around. The DS version can offer co-operative play and the PSP edition offers 4 player play.

The team behind Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is creating the cut scenes and it features much Generation One related unlockable stuff, so it should be a good show.

You can play as the humans:
  • Sam Witwicky
  • Mikaela
  • The 3 Air Force airmen (The ones who get attacked by Scorponok)
Or, you might choose an Autobot:
  • Optimus Prime
  • Bumblebee
  • Jazz
  • Ironhide
Or, if you have a mean streak, play as a Decepticon:
  • Megatron
  • Starscream
  • Barricade
  • Bonecrusher
  • Scorponok
Other Transformers from the movie, mostly Decepticons will appear as bosses in the game like Blackout, Brawl & Frenzy. Some playable characters in the game will be bosses first before you unlock them as playable characters. Other Transformers from the comics & cartoons also appear as bosses:
  • Soundwave with Ravage, Laserbeak & Rumble
  • Thundercracker, Skywarp & Thrust
  • Scourge
  • Blitzwing
  • Shockwave
  • Sixshot
  • Cyclonus
  • Devastator (5 of the Constructicons)
It sound like an awesome game; and lets just hope its a heck of alot better than the last Transformers game, which made so little impact, it should have been a cooking show.

My Kind Of Hulk

Written by GL

No woman can appear as attractive in green as She-Hulk can. She has been a member of both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four and is a highly skilled legal counsel to various superheroes

She-Hulk is perhaps the last major creation of Stan Lee during his most acclaimed period - the 1960s and '70s.

Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner (the mean and not so sexy Hulk), is the small and shy daughter of Los Angeles County Sheriff William Morris Walters. Agents of Nicholas Trask, a crime boss, shot and seriously wounded her on a day that Bruce Banner happened to be in town for a visit. Since no donors of her blood type were available, Banner provided blood for a transfusion; his radioactive blood transformed Jennifer into the green-skinned She-Hulk.

As She-Hulk, Jennifer possessed powers similar to those of her cousin, though at a reduced level. She also possessed a less monstrous, more amazonian appearance.

Although initially uncontrolled while in her form as She-Hulk, she eventually gained the same levels of intelligence she possessed as Jennifer Walters. By the time of the character's first anniversary, she had made a guest appearance in Spidey Super Stories, and was lucid enough to encourage the Rhino to seek a fair trial for an alleged crime he had committed.

Jennifer Walters quickly came to appreciate the confidence and assertiveness that came with being She-Hulk. At this point in her character development, she felt more comfortable in her form as She-Hulk than in her 'normal' form as Jennifer. After a brief solo career, she joined The Avengers, and temporarily replaced the Thing in the Fantastic Four.

During her tenure with the Fantastic Four, the She-Hulk had to prevent a radiation leak in a downed S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. This radiation exposure had a drastic effect on Jennifer: she could no longer transform back into her original form. However, this was good for her, since she preferred being She-Hulk.

After her Fantastic Four years, She-Hulk rejoined the Avengers and began working for District Attorney Blake Tower. Here she met Louise "Weezi" Mason, formerly the Golden Age superheroine called the Blonde Phantom. Later, while doing legal work for Heroes for Hire, She-Hulk spent some time dating Luke Cage.

She-Hulk currently practices law in the Superhuman Law division of the New York firm of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway (GLK&H). While practicing at GLK&H, Jennifer gradually became comfortable as both She-Hulk and Jennifer Walters, realizing that she has much to offer the world in both forms.

In her She-Hulk form, Jennifer possesses superhuman strength. When she transforms back and forth, she gains/loses considerable muscle). Unlike her cousin, Banner, her personality and intelligence are less affected when she transforms into the She-Hulk, although she becomes more self-confident and assertive.

As She-Hulk, Walters is proportionally stronger than she is in her Jennifer Walters form. This means that any extra strength gained as Jennifer Walters through physical training will be amplified, making her She-Hulk form exponentially stronger. While Jennifer Walters' training resulted in her becoming a bit more toned, She-Hulk's musculature, in contrast, became much more pronounced. As a result, she donned a special strength-controlling bodysuit to replace her business clothes, which no longer fit her frame. Walters subsequently shed some of that muscle mass during a work hiatus, but since first becoming She-Hulk, her strength has increased. However, her strength does not reach the Hulk's rage-enhanced levels. The She-Hulk is impervious to extreme levels of injury, pain and disease: her skin can withstand extremes of temperature, as well as tremendous stresses and impacts without puncture wounds or lacerations. Her enhanced physiology renders her immune to all terrestrial diseases.

Thanks to training by the Ovoid alien race, She-Hulk can exchange her physical characteristics and powers with the physical characteristics and powers of another being by simply creating mental image of the person and willing the transfer to take place. It was theorized by the Ovoid aliens who trained the She-Hulk that some factor of her gamma-mutated physiology causes her use of this talent to manifest in a different way. She rarely uses this power; unless she initiates this exchange with another superhuman being, she will become basically human in ability, but still green-skinned and generally recognizable as She-Hulk, and thus vulnerable to attack.

She-Hulk's legal practice requires her to spend extended periods of time as Jennifer Walters. The Scarlet Witch cast a spell for her which rendered anyone intending to harm the She-Hulk incapable of recognizing her as Jennifer Walters. However, the spell actually rendered Jennifer Walters completely undetectable to these individuals. While this had its advantages, it also left Jennifer unable to communicate with certain people whose knowledge or information it was vital for her to acquire. The spell was eventually removed by Dr. Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel Universe.

She-Hulk is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, having been trained by Captain America and Gamora. Even in her Jennifer Walters form, she possesses sufficient skill in the martial arts to dispatch several would-be muggers much larger than she is.

Extremely intelligent, She-Hulk is a skilled and experienced attorney. In spite of the character's party-girl image, she is an intellectual, being one of the few superheroines to have attained an advanced post-baccalaureate degree. Jennifer attended UCLA School of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, a national merit society for top legal scholars. She has shown great versatility in her legal practice, representing criminal defendants, corporations, and even domestic violence victims.

She-Hulk is not above using her looks to her tactical advantage in a fight; she did so against a then-single Hawkeye during a conflict in their early appearances together in Avengers.

Jennifer has been romantically involved with:
  • Zapper (a younger childhood friend)
  • Richard Rory (a supporting character of the Man-Thing stories)
  • Starfox (of the Avengers)
  • Wyatt Wingfoot (pilot of the Fantastic Four)
  • John Jameson (whom she met while he was the Man-Wolf and is still currently married to)
  • Augustus 'Pug' Pugliese (who only had a crush on her)
  • Clay Quartermain (only flirting)
  • Tony Stark (that's right; Iron Man, but only flirting)
  • Juggernaut (rumours)
She-Hulk is a busy girl.

However, the Surfer unexpectedly developed sympathy for the good and noble populace of Earth.

Human Torch ‘Blue Suit’: This version of the Human Torch both depicts a mid-transformation mode and plays upon the character’s ability to ignite localized portions of his body. Cute Mega Packs

Written By GL

A few months ago, I went a little action figure crazy when some Marvel Superhero Squad Packs hit Hua Ho stores around Brunei. To my surprise, more and more are coming into production. But no one knows when (if ever) they'll come here.

Hasbro has not only released 4 waves of the Superhero Squad Pack (two in one), but they have also included two Superhero Squad Mega Packs, as pictured above. Both packs feature two figures, with one being of larger scale. The one above features a Sentinel, the other that's not pictured here features Galactus. On top of that, there is also a Collector's Pack available - featuring an original costumed Daredevil, in the black and yellow gard.

If you can't get enough of these cutie-pie reversions of your favourite Marvel superheroes then get on the net and start hunting.

The Ghost Rides

Written by GL

Diamond Select Toys & Collectibles, in light of the recent Ghost Rider movie, have come up with an already in-stock figure of the anti-hero Johnny Blaze. And, if you've got the cash handy, it's ready to ship within 24 hours.

The Select Ghost Rider seems to be reasonably well articulated. This appears to be the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider, wearing the classic stunt rider blue uniform with the Dracula-style collar. He stands on a tiered fire-spattered rock precipice from which flame-writhing molten hands extend upward. Ghost Rider’s entire head is wreathed in red-orange flames, his grinning skull countenance hovering amid the fire.

As a new arrival, the retail prices goes for US$19.99 or B$30.50.

Avengers With A Little Bit Of Green

Written by GL

Zak Penn is a name you might want to remember. Zak Penn is the current screenwriter for The Incredible Hulk. But don't ask Zak Penn if the newest version of the super-bad superhero will be green or grey.

'Of course he’s going to be green,' Penn said, responding to rumors about a color change for the iconic mutant. In fact, Penn himself told film watchdogs that he wants the character to move in the direction of the classic roots of the Lou Ferrigno television show. 'I always felt about Ferrigno and the makeup was a much more naturalistic version of the Hulk. And that’s what we’re trying to go back to. His skin will appear more real,' Penn divulged. 'In the first movie he was so green. He’s not going to be bright green.'

Zak Penn hopes to move the movie towards a more realistic theme. 'It’s not going to have the split screen and all that stuff because it’s more like a real thriller, man on the run, fugitive style movie,' Penn revealed of the plot.

In a few years, the only thing greener than Hulk might be the money the character pulls in. Hulk will most likely also appear in an Avengers movie Penn is scripting, the screenwriter confessed.

'Avengers is definitely going to happen; the idea was always to do a crossover with multiple superheros,' he revealed about Marvel’s answer to DC’s Justice League. 'I’m waiting to let Iron Man and Hulk come out, because those are two characters that could appear in it. I used to think that movie would be impossible to make but now I feel like it’s not.'

Autobots, Roll Out Again

Written by GL

We haven't even come to the July 4th release of the hopefully superb Transformers, and already, the next chapter is on the way. No one dares to claim just yet when the sequel will be coming, but secret agents do know that actress Megan Fox, one of the current stars of Michael Bay's kick-butt robot retro revival, has confirmed that she is signed for the sequel.

'I hear they’re writing it now,' she said. 'So we’ll see.'

Fox is excited to reteam with her Cybertronian co-stars, now that she’s used to acting alongside the CGI creations. 'It was actually 30-foot-tall metal poles that we would talk to with cardboard cutouts for heads,' she says. 'They would be like Jazz’s head or Optimus Prime’s face and we would talk to them. And the first few takes you do you feel stupid, but then you get used to it and open up and it’s actually a lot of fun.'

LaBeouf and Fox Voicing Transformers: The Game

Written by Kal-El

This year's biggest games to look out for, is definetly The Transformers Game, Adaptation of the upcoming block buster, According to The Hollywood Reporter, Activision has signed Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox to provide their likenesses and voices for "Transformers: The Game," which ships for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS and PC on June 19...and then, Get it players.

Transformers, the DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures live-action movie adapted from the Hasbro toys, opens wide on the Fourth of July.

Activision's Daniel Suarez, the game's executive producer, said director Michael Bay and his creative team, headed by production designer Jeff Mann (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), gave Activision an extensive all-access pass to the conceptual material as it was being developed. The gamemakers were able to see early glimpses of all the film's CG animatics to get a sense of scale and movement for the characters as well as how the action sequences would play out before any frame of film was even shot.

"Having this type of access was vital to be able to capture the transformations from robot to vehicle and ensure that it was in sync with the movie," Suarez said. "Additionally, with the help of Ian Bryce and Mark Vahradian, producers on the film, we were able to secure the actual ILM models."

Activision previously hired Peter Cullen and Frank Welker to bring the video game Optimus Prime and Megatron to life in the game, as well. Actors Keith David and Mark Ryan brought Transformers Barricade and Iron Hide to life in the game.

Activision also enlisted original "Transformers" TV writer Flint Dille to write the game's script, which delves beyond the action in the film. Game developers Traveler's Tales and Vicarious Visions created the "Transformers" games.

Hollywood composer Steve Jablonsky (The Hitcher) recorded more than 90 minutes of original music for the game after creating the score for the movie.

We all hope that the game functions are good. So that's all for now.... Stay tune.

Hell On Your Console

Written by GL

The good fellas at Konami and Krome Studios have chosen to unleash hell on gaming consoles around the world. Come this September, Hellboy will be released on the Playstation 3, the Xbox 360 and the Playstation Portable.

Hellboy will provide players with fresh adventures featuring a fusion of action, atmosphere and humor of the comic book and movie franchise. Hellboy uncovers a Nazi plot for world domination and must rush to defeat the crazed Hermann Von Klempt before he can exert his evil will upon a hapless world. As a visceral brawler, the game lets players unleash Hellboy's superhuman abilities as they smash their way through hordes of enemies with use of the environment for added destructive power and strategy.

Sounds good.

It has been revealed that there will be 4 playable characters: Hellboy, Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman and one only from the original comic book series. The game will support online and offline multi-player co-operation.

Because Krome Studios in Australia is the developer of the game, it's the Aussies that got the first look. Complaints have yet to come, so Hellboy fans should learn to keep an eye out for this one.

The Dark Knight Movie Takes A Gamble

Written by GL

He trashed Ra’s Al Ghul and made The Scarecrow pee his pants, and then we saw him heading off to take down The Joker. Now, what?

MTV News has learned that rapper/actor David Banner auditioned this week for a role in The Dark Knight, the super-secretive sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins. According to Banner, he would play a villain named Gamble, another criminal to help fill out the rogue ranks alongside Heath Ledger’s Joker.

The larger story must also be the presence of this mysterious Gamble character. Various searches on the Internet show that this Batman baddie has never appeared in a Dark Knight comic before.

Banner stressed that he couldn’t divulge anything more about the character, and that he didn’t know if he had landed the part just yet. But either way, David Banner seems one step closer to joining Ledger, Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart and the other illustrated men of Gotham City.

Take note comic fans: David Banner actually named himself after our very own The Incredible Hulk (because he was such a fan of the old school TV show). Props.

Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight is currently filming, and is targeting a July 2008 release.

411 on The Hulk Movie

Written by Kal-El

Personally what i thought about the first Hulk Movie, i thought it was fantastic Movie although it was altered from the original storyline, in my books, The Hulk was never an experiment when he was a child, Bruce Banner was just involved in a terrible horrific gamma experiment. But hey, i'm not complaining, i loved the first one, i only wished they had reached out and showed more of the Heroic stuff that the Hulk usually does in the comics, but according to some resources that i've found, The sequel to the Hulk movie will be a totally a whole new different thing says Producer Avi Arad. Check out the interview stated below by Avi Arad.

"It's a new Hulk, new direction, new size, new color, new attitude. Anything that was done before is not in this movie. It's a very different kind of Hulk. It's more of a love story; it's more of a heroic Hulk. It's a kind of Hulk we loved in the show, so it's kind of more influenced by the show than anything else. It's very human, very touching, and huge action. Louis Leterrier has a unique filming style that will be great here and it's going to be spectacular. "

However, does this mean that we will get to see the hulk in Grey?

Later on, it was confirmed that the Hulk will still maintain his colour to the original Green. Maybe a different Shade of Green...He's just nasty that way. Read on true believers.

"It was a joke!" laughs Arad, in town to talk up Spider-Man 3, which opens on May 4. "Here's what it was. There were 30 people around a table, and they said 'is there going to be a grey Hulk?' And I was thinking about it and I said, 'who knows?' It was one of those moments. I had just got back from Japan and I was trying to talk about Spider-Man and this guy was pushing me on The Hulk so I thought I'll be coy. I don't know what colour it is, and all of a sudden it's headline news."

But Arad did mention a new colour – so will the eponymous star of Louis Letterier's movie, due out in 2008, still be green? Or orange? Or pink with yellow stripes?

"It's a different shade of green," confirms Arad. "But the colour is not like the old Hulk. And no, there's no grey Hulk."

Edward Norton is casts as Bruce Banner, Liv Tyler will play the role of Betty Ross and Tim Roth will play the Abomination. Stay tune for more info on the Hulk Sequel Movie as they are already starting to shoot the movie in Toronto as we speak.

Lionsgate Picks Up Miller's Spirit

Lionsgate announced today that it has secured domestic and U.K. distribution rights to the live action comic book adaptation The Spirit, directed and written by Sin City and 300 creator Frank Miller and based on the classic series by comic master Will Eisner. Lionsgate will partner on the project with Odd Lot Entertainment, which is producing and co-financing, and Batfilm Productions, which is producing. Gigi Pritzker and Deborah Del Prete (The Wedding Planner, the upcoming Suburban Girl) are producing for Odd Lot; Lionsgate's Mike Paseornek, President of Film Production, is producing for Lionsgate; and Michael Uslan (Batman Begins, Constantine) is producing for Batfilm. Batfilm co-founder Benjamin Melniker and Steve Maier are executive producers, and Odd Lot's Linda McDonough and Batfilm's F.J. DeSanto are co-producers. The announcement was jointly made today by Lionsgate President of Theatrical Films Tom Ortenberg, President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions Peter Block, and Paseornek.

The deal is a unique multi-picture co-financing, co-production and split rights arrangement, with The Spirit being the first film in the pipeline.

Commented Ortenberg, Block and Paseornek, "Lionsgate is proud and excited to join the team bringing Will Eisner's immortal 'The Spirit' to the big screen. With the 'Sin City' series, Frank Miller has proven to be as brilliant and original a filmmaker as he is a graphic novelist. His vision is perfectly matched to that of Eisner, and we believe 'The Spirit' will be a thrilling experience for comic book lovers and mass audiences alike."

"Lionsgate comes to this relationship with a unique and strong ability to support 'The Spirit.' We are delighted to be in business with the studio and are confident in their well-developed marketing and promotions strategies as well as their depth in launching global franchises," said Del Prete. Continued Pritzker, "We look forward to a successful creative and business partnership with Lionsgate, and know they will help shepherd Frank Miller's vision for 'The Spirit.'

"Said Miller, "Will Eisner's 'The Spirit' is a product of passion and dedication for me. Will was a dear friend, a mentor, and translating his vision to the screen will be a labor of love. I look forward to working with the people at Lionsgate, and to add to their lauded reputation for genre films."

Adapated from the legendary Will Eisner's graphic novels, The Spirit tells the visceral, action-packed story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has a different mission: he's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this cold-hearted killer from Central City's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront... all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill our masked crusader.

In the vein of Batman Begins and Sin City, The Spirit takes us on a sinister, gut-wrenching ride of a hero who is born, murdered and born again.

Top 10 Comic Villains

Written by GL

Here's a humorous take on what many on the online community might consider the top ten villains across the comic universe. It is in no way our opinion - it's just a little bit of fun, jambroni.

10. The Big Wheel
Why: Why friggin’ not? Big took on the Rocket Racer man… THE ROCKET RACER!
Why not: Are you seriously asking why not? Get out of here Stilt Man!

9. Green Goblin (Harry Osborne)
Why: “Hey Peter! After we finish our beers and send our wives home, what say I try my best to murder you in Central Park?”
Why not: “Sorry bout the whole ‘trying desperately to kill you’ thing, oh and by the way, my lame dad is totally not dead, plus watch out for my son, in 15 years or so!”

8. Mephisto
Why: He’s like the devil or something, we think he kinda has to make this list.
Why not: He spent way too much time getting his behind handed to him by Thanos

7. Kang The Conqueror
Why: The guy travels through time, is armed better than Cable and the Punisher, and well you know… he conquers.
Why not: Which version of Kang will be attacking us this week? Will it be the Egyptian Pharaoh, or the old guy? I know, how about a kid! Not cool!

6. Lex Luthor
Why: He tried to take over the world, and even tried to destroy it, and still managed to get elected President.
Why not: Remember that pea green Lex Luthor battle suit? That hideous ‘I wish I was an Iron Man suit’ came complete with a set of rear view mirrors.

5. Darkseid
Why: He beat just about everybody at one point or another. He should have taken over the Earth like eight times over by now.
Why not: You, and I’ll say it again, do not (pause for effect) get taken down by Green Arrow and the Atom. Ever.

4. Thanos
Why: He’s taken over the whole universe at least twice, maybe two and a half times.
Why not: He got beaten up by Squirrel Girl. Yeah we know, that is sad.

3. Apocalypse
Why: The only one to cause the X-Men more grief than Magneto is probably him.
Why not: When asked about the X-Men villain, Iron Man said, “Apoca—who?”

2. Magneto
Why: So dangerous, the world actually agreed to give him his own island.
Why not: He’s the most easily manipulated villain of all time, just ask Fabian Cortez, or Moira MacTaggert, or Charles Xavier, or Rogue…you get the picture.

1. Dr. Doom
Why: He can fly on a private jet to New York and skip right on past customs. He can get in a limo and drive by Avengers Tower, and Four Freedoms Plaza all with the windows rolled down. He can stop and rob a liquor store or knock over a bank if he wants. He can even drag Jarvis and Willy Lumpkins out of bed in the middle of the night and slap them on the Times Square Jumbo-Tron for all the world to see! And when the Avengers and Fantastic Four show up with Spider-Man to stop him, he can say, “Back off punks, I got diplomatic immunity!” And then get back in his limo, and on to his plane, and go home. That’s why.
Why not: How can he be able to take out the Silver Surfer with ease, yet still get his behind handed to him by the Fantastic Four?

Magneto's Movie In The Works

Written by GL

Little do many of us know that the man behind every successful Marvel comic to Hollywood film is a fella named Avi Arad. Avi Arad has been in charge of almost all Marvel films, and almost all Marvel films have been a hit. Is there anything else to remake?

The answer is: of course. The answer, more specifically, is: Magneto.

'I love it!' While we first met the diabolical anti-hero (played by Ian McKellen) in 'X-Men,' and followed his mutant crusade through two sequels, it’s in Magneto that the character will finally get the origin story he so richly deserves, Arad revealed.

Here's a teaser plot from the man himself: 'Think of meeting him in (the first X-Men movie) as a young boy in a concentration camp. What happens to his life after the war?' he teased of the film’s plot. Arad quickly answered his own question, telling MTV News that the flick will follow Magneto discovering 'if his powers are real or not and the whole journey of his survival as a young man.'

Directed and co-written by 'Batman Begins' writer David Goyer, the prequel has all sorts 'of opportunities for the kind of things that will make it interesting,' Arad contended, including a look at his early friendship with and ultimate rift from Charles Xavier, the mutant who would later become the leader of the X-Men.

Given Magneto is already the head of the militant mutant organization known as The Brotherhood in the first film, will the prequel detail the steps he takes to form that alliance, perhaps highlighting such mutants as Sabertooth and Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique? 'Some amazing surprises that happen in his life are in store,' Arad coyly answered.

While Arad searches for an actor to play the young Magneto, he can only hope the casting will match that of Robert Downey, Jr., who Arad says is a perfect fit to play Tony Stark/Iron Man. 'I think he is Tony. He is cool, he is quick, he is sexy,' Arad said in praise of his lead actor. 'Tony Stark was this guy who could get away with anything. He had this dual life and you need an amazing actor to play this dual character without superpowers. You have to be two men with one heart.'

Iron Man arrives in theaters next May, while Magneto aims for a 2009 release.

Jane Pulls Out Of Punisher 2

Written by GL

Certain movie reviewers have received a note from Thomas Jane (star of the first The Punisher movie) stating that the actor has pulled out of Lionsgate's The Punisher 2. Here's a bit from the letter:

'What I won't do is spend months of my life sweating over a movie that I just don't believe in. I've always loved the Marvel guys, and wish them well. Meanwhile, I'll continue to search for a film that one day might stand with all those films that the fans have asked me to watch.'

Tough stuff to hear. It's a real wonder how successful the movie will be without the familiarity of its first starring actor in the sequel. Let's just wait and see on any new developments on this.

Nature Vs Nurture

Written by Kal-El

Everyone knows by now what a symbiote is or does, but what everyone might still wonder is how does it functions work, where is it from? or why we call it an alien. Well let's get to it.

A Symbiote is a living alien organism that usually bonds with our case it's mainly humans or other living organs such as maybe animals for that matter. Quite often its appearance looks as if it is a costume as shown in the movie Spider-Man 3. A Horrific living Alien "Costume" that searches for its host to bond with.

It is still an unknown fact where the symbiote alien comes from; it could be from a fragment of meteor or some kind. But it is known that their species have existed for millions of years prior to the arrival of the Venom symbiote on Earth.

Accordingly to the Mini series of comics "Planet of the Symbiotes", the symbiotes were made originally unfeeling, conquering race, taking over any species that they could come in contact with to feed off their internal emotions, such as Adrenaline rushes from such Death defying feats. However the Venom symbiote was different because it has it own desire to be attaching to a single host, and to have the desire to feel "belong" rather than to dominate.

The Venom Symbiote describes itself as a Mutation though it may just as likely be a unique one among its species. While the number of Symbiotes in existence at present is unknown, The Venom symbiote has describe that the Carnage is the 999 in his line which makes Carnage's offspring Toxin the thousandth. On a personality scale, the symbiotes seemed to have shown its strong unstable feats of violence, sometimes deceptions and big scale of criminal acts against humanity. It has also seemed that a symbiote's personality may be based on an amalgamation of the memories and thoughts that have been collected from the various hosts and is stored within it's generic symbiote memory, which explains how the Venom symbiote who once values a life to some degree has changed into a being who could take the lives of many even without a host to guide it's actions.

More confused hosts, like Brock, seem to result in different personalities: Venom claimed 'innocence should be cherished' and rescued victims he deemed innocent, including human infants. However, Brock's poor judgment has lead to him performing many criminal acts, including the murder of some apparently innocent people. How does a symbiote feels like? Well like it seems actually, sticky and kinda gooey, The symbiotes provokes a cool feeling as the plasmic ooze covers its hosts. It stimulates them, provides for them, and protects them by itself when the host is unconscious or unaware of a true symbiotic relationship.

They also feed off diseases fatal to humans, due to the type of energy or "adrenaline" it may produce; for example, the Venom symbiote was able to save Eddie Brock's life from cancer by feeding off it, since Eddie's cancer produced the exact type of adrenaline that the symbiote needs to survive. Symbiotes are capable of living independently of a host as all known symbiotes have, as they have at one time or another, left their hosts or been forced to be without their hosts for extended periods of time.

As a weakness, naturally it could be weakened by an intense sonics and intense heat like large fires. There has not been an invulnerable symbiote in mainstream continuity as even the newest breeds can still be harmed by incredible amounts of sonic waves and heat.

Here is a list of people that has worn the Alien "Costume"
1) Spider-Man - Originally worn the first Alien Suit.
2) Eddie Brock (Venom)
3) She-Venom
4) Ben Reilly - Briefly and unknowingly wore the Venom symbiote.
5) Angelo Fortunato
6) Mac Gargan - Currently wearer of the Venom suit. Sometimes referred to as Scorpion - Venom.
7) Wolverine - Also known as “Wolvenom” during the series "Venom vs Wolverine".
8) Normie Osborn -
Son of Harry Osborn was the longest host of the Venom symbiote referred to as Goblin-Venom.
9) Spider-Girl - May Parker briefly bonds with the Venom symbiote.
10) Kron Stone - In the year 2099, Half brother to that era's Spider-Man, bonded to become the Venom 2099. Roman the Sub-Mariner became a brief host to the symbiote in the year 2099.
11) The Punisher - wore the Venom symbiote in Marvel's "What If" comic series.
12) The Hulk -Also in the "What if" alternate story.
13) Thor - Also in the "What if" alternate story.

The Carnage Symbiote has also have its previous host.
14) Cletus Kasady
15) John Jameson
16) Ben Reilly
17) The Silver Surfer - Became "The Carnage Cosmic"
18) Krobaa
19) Toxin - Worn by Patrick Mulligan

Is David Boreanaz Up for Sub-Mariner?

Written by Kal-El

I've found an article (Thanks to our valueable resources) about David Boreanaz to be casted as Namor the Sub-Mariner. Read up on it guys.

While this should be taken with a fair amount of salt, scooper 'Horrie' writes:

Just got home from my acting class, and a classmate tells me she just did a guest turn on TVs "Bones". Don't know that there's any truth to this or not, but she's saying that David Boreanaz from the show may be up for - or has auditioned - for the "Sub Mariner" movie...he said he had... P.S though my friend called it the "Namor" movie. I assume its the same thing we're talking about.

The Universal Pictures project will be directed by Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines), who also rewrote the script.

Stay tune for more updates on the Sub-Mariner.

JLA Cover To Cover Statues in Stock

Written by GL

Now here is something that I have been waiting for for a long, long time. And it's simply awesome that it has finally arrived.

What you see before you is just another addition to the 3-D Justice League of America statue collection. And it is currently in-stock right now, for this month of May. Based on the comic cover of Green Lantern #166, the hero stands at just under 10 inches tall, inclusive of the pedestal height, and comes in a prime 4 color box.

For the sake of appearing un-biased, I will tell you all that future (coming soon) DC Direct cover to cover statues include Batman, The Flash & Wonder Woman. Each of the statues in this series is based on an iconic comic cover and share a common, generic pedestal base and height. Meaning to say, they will all come with stands and will all be of the same height differentiation.

Expect each one to retail around about US$59.99 or just around B$100.

To view these upcoming and very-well-made statues, head to DC Direct. And be enlightened.

To Hellboy And Back

Written by GL

Appearing in cinemas soon is the almost-too-fast-to-be-true sequel to Big Red's very first starring movie; although this one is titled Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.

In this sequel to Hellboy, an ancient truce between humankind and the invisible realm is broken, and a ruthless leader defies his bloodline and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures. Director, Guillermo Del Toro developed the story with Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.

Doug Jones, also known as the man who plays Abe Sapien (Hellboy's water-dwelling buddy) , and the rest of the crew are heading to Budapest to begin production. "I'll also be doing two other characters in the film: the Chamberlain and the Angel of Death," Jones said. His roles will require fight training, he added.

Jones is pleased this time that he will get to use his own voice in Hellboy 2. He was dubbed by David Hyde Pierce in the first film, as he was in the upcoming Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, in which he plays the metallic title character. In that sequel, Laurence Fishburne will voice the Surfer, for which Jones provided the performance.

The filmmakers are currently building the film's large sets and plan to begin shooting in June. The first Hellboy was released in 2004. Hellboy 2 is expected to be released at the end of next summer. Best guess: look out for it around August 2008

Superman Awarded and Returning for Sequel

Written by Kal-El

Variety Reports that Superman Returns topped the 33rd Annual Saturn Awards. Warner Bros. relaunch of the Man of Steel franchise garnered five kudos, including top fantasy film, directing honors for Bryan Singer and the top actor award for star Brandon Routh. Superman Returns Writers Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty, also took the writing award and Composer John Ottman received the Best Music award.

Also in his returning to the big screen, Screen writer Dan Harris dropped a bit of info as to Superman’s next villain by saying…”Superman is only as good as his Villains”.

Now on that note, this is just me rambling in my head, If he had say that could it mean that his next supervillain be Bizarro???

Stay tune true believers..

Keep You Friends Close And Your Enemies Closer

Written by Kal-El

Ever Since the launch of the Latest installment of Spider-Man 3 Movie was released, i got a lot of fans of the movie asking me questions about Harry Osborn aka New Goblin. Question alike did he died in the comics? Was he supposed to be Hobgoblin? Well, ladies and Gents, Fans of Spidey comics, what i'm about to tell you is a story that might help you all get your answers and facts right, Take on this ride with me as i am about to tell you a story about Peter Parker's Best Friend, Harry Osborn.

Harry Osborn was born in New York City to a Famous Millionaire named Norman Osborn and Wife Emily. Unfortunately Emily passed away several years after Harry was born due to several years of illness. Being heartbroken, Norman became an insane, cold and unloving father, always on Harry's case. Being a disappointment to Norman, Harry spent his whole life trying to please his father trying to earn his father's approval.

Harry attended at Empire State University, same college as Peter Parker, Whom eventually shared a luxury apartment in New York later on. What Harry didn't realize is that Peter was a Superhero Spider-Man. A Hero that had already went to battle with The Green Goblin to save the city. When the Green Goblin already had discovered Peter's Secret identity, He revealed his own identity to Peter, Now as Peter is horrified that his greatest enemy is his own best friend's father, Peter was torn in between during their battles together.

On one occasional battle between Spider-Man and The Green Goblin, The Green Goblin had loss his memory after the battle for which was a great difficult time for Harry, Having experimented with Drugs since his teenage years, which affected his mental stability and relationships with friends. During this time, Harry was also seeing the lovely Mary Jane Watson, Like in the movie Spider-Man 1. Their relationship ended as MJ had dumped Harry due to his self destructive lifestyle.

During this time, The Green Goblin (Norman) had resurfaced with Vengeance to attack Spider-Man's heart. Peter at this time was seeing Gwen Stacy. He had kidnapped Gwen and used her as bait for Spider-Man, and threw her off the George Washington Bridge, But here's the mystery of it all, When Peter pulled her back up with his webbing, She was already dead. A Mystery has surfaced, was it the Green Goblin that had killed Gwen? Or was it Peter's web that killed her? This was not answered in the comics.

With Venom Eyes, Spidey would seek revenge on Gwen's Killer, A Vicious battle between Spider-Man and The Green Goblin ensued, with Peter barely able to control himself from Killing the Green Goblin, The Goblin then directed his goblin glider to impale Spider-Man, but the wall-crawler jumped out of the way, and the Goblin was impaled through the chest himself, and seemingly killed. Peter was wracked with guilt and sorrow, but took comfort in the fact that the Green Goblin was finally gone.

Secretly, Harry had witness the whole battle. Harry wanted to protect his father's identity; he stripped Norman's body of the Green Goblin's costume and hid it. Sworn and blames Spider-Man for his father's "murder", Harry had swore Vengeance on the Web Swinger. Having inherited his father's company, Harry managed to get the business back in shape as he planned his revenge. One day, to his shock, he found a Spider-Man costume in Peter's apartment, and realized that his best friend was the man he blamed for his father's death. Using his father's old equipment, Harry confronted Peter as the new Green Goblin or like in the movies…maybe just the New Goblin. Not wanting to hurt Harry, Peter avoided fighting his old friend. Eventually Harry was knocked unconscious and taken into police custody. There he raved that he was the true Green Goblin and Peter Parker was Spider-Man, but was dismissed as a lunatic.

He was put in the care of criminal psychologist Dr. Bart Hamilton, who extracted the secrets of the Green Goblin from Harry through hypnosis, and buried the knowledge deep with Harry's mind. However, this was not altruistic on Hamilton's part - he then raided one of Harry's hideouts and became the second Green Goblin, hoping to become the new boss of the underworld. However, his power was no match for his enthusiasm, and the power-mad psychologist was killed by a bomb he had planted for Spider-Man. Harry was released and considered cured, and he and Peter rekindled their friendship

Harry's life seemed back on track; His Company began turning profits once more, and he developed a romance with Liz Allan, whom he met at the wedding of Betty Brant and Ned Leeds. Not long after, the two were married, and eventually they had a son, whom Harry named Normie in memory of the boy's grandfather. Harry also gave his blessing to the marriage of Peter and Mary Jane. However, Harry was forced to act as the Green Goblin a few times during these years, once to defeat Jason Macendale, the second Hobgoblin. Macendale sought the Goblin formula that gave the Green Goblin superhuman strength; Harry was able to defeat Macendale by doubling back during an aerial chase and emptying his entire supply of pumpkin bombs onto the third Green Goblin. Harry even wondered if he could use the Goblin persona for a career as a superhero, but Peter convinced him that the Goblin had too much baggage for such a role, and Harry buried the Goblin menace within his mind once more, and focused on his business and family. His Peace full tranquility was shattered when the aftereffects of the Inferno crisis sundered the barrier between Harry's conscious and subconscious minds.

Once again he remembered being the Green Goblin and his irrational hatred of Spider-Man. His sanity shattered, he declared that their next confrontation would be their final one, and only one of them would be alive at the end. To ensure that he was the victor, Harry researched his father's chemical notes, hoping to recreate the original Goblin's superhuman strength. Harry made his own modifications to the formula, and upon ingesting it, it proved better than he had dreamed. The new Goblin Formula had made him stronger than both Spider-Man and his father. Now a physical match for Spider-Man, Harry planned his final revenge.

Harry took to stalking Peter Parker on his Goblin Glider, claiming that there was no law against just soaring around town in a colourful costume, and taunting Peter that someday he would destroy him, but he relished keeping Peter in suspense in the meantime. After weeks of this, Peter finally lost his cool and struck at Harry, only to be sent flying when Harry hit back, demonstrating his new strength. He then rocketed away, taunting Spider-Man's inability to stop him.

Not long after, Harry held a prestigious dinner at his townhouse, inviting many of his father's old business associates. However, it was actually a trap, and Harry had planted explosives throughout the townhouse, which he planned to detonate, thus destroying everybody who had slighted the Osborns.

Spider-Man, fearing the worst, dropped in to investigate, only to be confronted by Harry as the Goblin. The two former friends engaged in an explosive battle, which ended when Harry injected Peter with a drug that left him immobile but still conscious. However, even as he gloated over his victory, he realized that Mary Jane and his son Normie were also in the townhouse, and that the explosives would detonate in two minutes. Despite protestations that he wasn't a hero, Peter convinced Harry to use his glider to get the two to safety. Once Normie and Mary Jane were safe, Harry's sanity finally returned, and he realized that he had left Peter to die. Harry rescued Peter from the explosion in the nick of time. However, as his friends thanked him, he suddenly collapsed. The Goblin Formula was imperfect, and while it had increased his strength, it was also lethally poisoning him. Paramedics were called, but Harry died on the way to the hospital. With his final words, he apologized to Peter, and confirmed that despite everything, they were still, and always will be, best friends.

Now do I have your attention??…Rest in Peace Harry.

Foxy Lady Frost

Written by GL

First appearing in January of 1980, Emma Frost is, in my opinion, one of the hottest Marvel babes ever.

Emma Frost first appeared as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, a group of superhumans who dressed in 18th century clothing and plotted world domination. Frost and the Club's agents captured several members of the X-Men. Frost engaged Phoenix in a psychic battle, lost badly, but later recovered.

During her time with the Hellfire Club, Frost also ran the Massachusetts Academy, a school for mutants which was a villain-reflection of Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Frost's trainees became the super-villain team known as the Hellions and fought Xavier's young students, the New Mutants. At one point, Frost began privately training a young mutant named Angelica Jones to be her personal bodyguard and assassin in reaction to political in-fighting among the Hellfire Club. Jones eventually discovered Frost was manipulating her and broke free from her control to later become the super-heroine Firestar.

When the time traveling mutant Trevor Fitzroy unleashed the mutant-hunting robots called the Sentinels on Frost and the Hellions, Frost was left in a coma by the attack and nearly all of her students were killed. One of the Hellions, Tarot, somehow returned to life several months later. The two Hellions that managed to survive were Warpath and Empath.

The X-Men cared for Frost at the Xavier Academy. Later, she awoke and possessed the body of the X-Man Iceman (Bobby Drake). In Drake's body, Frost made use of his ice powers in ways he had never dreamed and pushed the limits of his powers to escape the X-Mansion. When she discovered the deaths of her students, Xavier was able to coax the devastated Frost back into her own body.

After being disrupted from her coma state while the alien group known as the Phalanx invaded the mansion and replaced several X-Men, Frost teamed up with the X-Man Banshee (Sean Cassidy), Jubilee, Sabretooth and future superhero, Synch. They battled the techno-organic lifeforms in order to rescue a select group of teenage mutants known as 'Generation X'. Emma agreed, after resolving that the Hellions might have survived Fitzroy's Sentinel siege had they been exposed to Xavier's teachings as well as her own.

The group of students came to be known as Generation X and studied at Frost's Massachusetts Academy. Cassidy's trust of Frost was intermittent — at times he was suspicious of her, and at others he trusted her implicitly. Her students were also initially skeptical of her. Slowly, the headmistress earned their trust. Around this time, Frost also worked to earn back Firestar's trust.

Emma became involved in the lives of many other young mutants besides her initial charges, including Marrow, Artie, Leech and even Franklin Richards for a time.

After Frost's business ventures took a bad turn, she turned to her estranged sister Adrienne for help. Adrienne, a psychometrist, offered financial assistance but demanded to be co-headmistress of the school in return. Adrienne secretly plotted against Emma and planted a bomb at the school, which killed Generation X member Synch. Frost tracked down and murdered Adrienne and then returned to the Academy, growing increasingly distant from her students in an effort to hide her crime. This, combined with Banshee's increasing depression and drunkenness following the death of his long-time lover Moira MacTaggert, led the students to leave, disbanding Generation X.

Afterwards, Frost traveled to the mutant haven island of Genosha. There, Frost ran and taught at a mutant school until a genocidal Sentinel attack killed most of the island's population. Frost survived only due to the sudden manifestation of her secondary mutation: the power to transform herself into a flexible, diamond-like substance that provides her near-invulnerability.

Frost then joined the X-Men and taught at Xavier's newly-reopened school and shortly thereafter dropped her "White Queen" codename. She also started to look after and train a group of telepathic quintuplets known as the Stepford Cuckoos, who quickly became her prized pupils. Frost and the Cuckoos proved themselves when they helped fight against the entity known as Cassandra Nova. As a member of the X-Men, Frost began a psychic, quasi-sexual relationship with the X-Man Cyclops (Scott Summers), who had become distant from his wife Jean Grey as a result of his temporary physical and mental merger with the mutant immortal, Apocalypse. At first the psychic meetings had been a form of therapy, but soon de-evolved into much more.

While quelling a riot at the school, one of the Cuckoos was killed and the others left Frost, blaming her for the death. In the aftermath of the riot, Jean Grey discovered Frost and Summers' affair, became enraged and confronted Frost. Unleashing her re-ignited Phoenix abilities, Grey tore through Frost's mental defenses and forced her to face the self-denials of her past (including the fact she had breast-enhancement surgery). Frost was traumatized after the attack, the experience left her humiliated and emotionally shattered. She ended up confessing to Wolverine that she truly loved Scott Summers.

Soon afterwards, fellow X-Man Beast found her physically shattered in her diamond form. While other members of the school investigated the murder, Beast and Jean Grey successfully reassembled and fused Frost's body back together. Alive again, Frost was able to name her murderer - Esme of the Stepford Cuckoos. Esme had shot Frost in her single flaw with a diamond bullet, under the direction of Xorn/Magneto. Esme fled, and after her subsequent murder by Xorn/Magneto, the three remaining Cuckoos returned to Frost.

Frost did not remain in such a state for long. Following Jean Grey's apparent death, Cyclops and Frost became lovers, despite the criticism from their teammates. The two took over the school after Professor Xavier stepped down. Frost became co-headmaster with Cyclops and advisor to a new team of Hellions. Frost developed a very antagonistic relationship with fellow advisor Danielle Moonstar, who, despite Emma's past record with the X-Men, did not trust her.

Due to Frost's refined telepathic abilities, she beat the daughter of Jean Grey and Cyclops, Rachel Grey, in a contest on the astral plane. Frost then rather peacefully offered Rachel the chance to help her hone her telepathic skills. Rachel, though still wary, accepted the proposal.

Not many are familiar with the White Queen's powers. Emma Frost is actually capable of both telepathic abilities and transformation into diamond form with enhanced strength and durability.

Since her introduction, Frost has displayed the telepathic standards of broadcasting and receiving thoughts, mind control, altering perceptions and memories, astral projection, all fine-tuned to brutal accuracy. She is highly skilled at creating electronic devices that amplify/block/engage psionic powers, as well as exploiting flaws in most electronic equipment.

Frost is also very adept at performing 'psychic surgery': the utilization of pin-pointed psionic energy to exert absolute control over individual brain functions such that the physical form can be manipulated (i.e. injuries healed, disabilities repaired, activation of sexual response, stimulation or retardation of growth and aging, etc). This is an unusual feat for even the most powerful of telepaths, but one that Frost is keen to utilize whenever the occasion suits her. During the Civil War: X-Men series, Emma is considered as one of the most powerful telepaths on Earth. Most recently in X-Men Annual 1, Emma was labeled as the most powerful telepath on the planet.

During the massacre of over 16 million mutants in Genosha, Frost developed a secondary mutation: the ability to transform herself into a perfectly smooth, flexible, translucent diamond-like substance. Her abilities have been inconsistent in this form. Although initially only her skin turns into diamond, she was shattered by a diamond bullet, indicating that her entire body turns into organic diamond. Frost is virtually impervious to all forms of physical damage and can use her indestructible body to support incredible amounts of weight, though different writers have shown varying accounts of her strength.

Frost's full range of abilities between her diamond state and regular form have also been inconsistent; while some occurrences would have some readers believe that due to a genetic flaw Frost cannot access her telepathy in diamond form. Also, Emma has no need for water or food while she stays in her diamond form.

For a character as young as Emma Frost, she has managed to transend throughout the Marvel Universe rather well; playing out through the history of the X-Men as friend and foe. Needless to say, she is one of the hottest characters out there and if anyone can recommend me a good place to purchase that little white outfit for my future wife, drop me a line.

Become The Dark

Written by GL

Upcoming in this year to Playstation 3's and XBox 360's around the globe is 'THE DARKNESS' based on the very well drawn and very famous superhero of the same name.

You play Mafia hitman, Jackie Estacado who, on the eve of his 21st birthday, is suddenly possessed by the powers of The Darkness. Although this dark, supernatural entity allows him to wreak havoc on his enemies, The Darkness also has a powerful will of its own and Estacado must learn to control it. The game is going to be a blend of modern crime drama and supernatural horror through both first-person and third-person view. And good news: the environments are destructible. You supposedly go around demolishing the scenery of the New York and wreak vengeance on former Mafia employers. You then move on to fighting creatures of The Otherworld, a parallel reality where the Darkness dwells.

At its core, the Darkness is a first-person shooter, with Estacado's skills as a hitman allowing him to make use of a wide variety of guns, from basic 9mm handguns and submachine guns to high-powered assault rifles and automatic shotguns. Estacado will primarily use these in well-lit environments, when he cannot efficiently use 'Darkness Powers'.
In the dark, Estacado will be able to use his hellish ability to summon creatures and artifacts from The Otherworld and Hell itself.

Some abilities include:
  • Summoning Darklings: demon-like things that can kick some butt just for you
  • Summoning Dark Tentacles: long arm-like things that grow out of your back and pick up stuff and throw things around just for you.
  • Summoning Maw Tentacles: smaller arm-like things that should do practically the same as above
  • Creating Black Holes: deep, dark pits with which to suck annoying numbers of enemies in to The Otherworld.
Just like the whole comic to films trend, comics to games are taking on a life of their own, with all sorts of characters moving towards consoles near you for your gaming pleasure. The hardest thing is to separate the awesome from the just-made-to-make-a-little-bit-of-cash. Keep an eye out for this one, but I expect see a Spawn-Ghost Rider theme in the plot and gameplay of The Darkness.

Where for Art Thou Spiderman?

Written by GL

I've never really been a fan of plays. But, to be fair, I've never really had to chance to catch one myself. Although, I can't really say that the chances of me turning into a musical theater fan, even after watching one, are good. The fact of the matter is, alot of movies turn into Broadway shows, and alot of Broadway shows turn in big screen productions. But imagine if I told you that forces are at work to turn Spiderman into a musical.

That's right. I didn't stutter. Spiderman the musical.

Needless to say, the movie is out and everyone is real near insanity for it. But, can you or can't you wait for the Broadway musical of Spiderman? Apparently, word on the gossip channels is that the Marvel Entertainment company just hinted that U2 group members, Bono and The Edge, will be in charge of the soundtrack for the play. And funnily enough, Spiderman will be the first Marvel superhero to be featured on Broadway - even though they're still in the development stages. There is no news on when the show will actually premiere.

On top of that, the claimed director for the play is supposed to be a talented, Tony-Award-winning lady named Julie Taylor, who is, in fact, the same lady who adapted the Disney movie, The Lion King, into a Broadway show. But don't be too shocked. This isn't the first superhero Broadway musical to have been acted. Believe it or not, way back in 1966, another superhero play premiered on stages around the American entertainment events circle, and it was reported to have been a total flop. It was called, 'It's A Bird...It's A Plane...It's Superman!'.

One cannot help but wonder, with so many comic book stories and super-heroes being translated into big screen blockbuster movies, if the Spiderman Broadway musical is a success, will more comic book-based musicals also follow? Will audiences be enraptured with Wolverine's beautiful rendition of "claw you up here, claw you up anywhere, claw you to Hell!" Will the public fall for Batman and Robin switching between utility belt action and tap-dancing?

Let's hope this isn't the start of something out-of-hand.

I'm in Love with Mary Jane

Dwayne 'THE ROCK' Johnson on Shazam!

Post entry by Kal-El and GL

Superhero films are all the rage now, and new ideas are popping up everyday. But one film, one character, has been talked about forever – and I mean forever. That would be Captain Marvel. So who's going to play the DC Comics man of red and yellow – not The Flash? Well, it could be none other than Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Today, during a visit to the set of Get Smart, Johnson was wide eyed when the very idea was brought up to re-team with director Peter Segal in the feature, Shazam! According to Johnson himself, he's spoken to Pete about the role.

"Yeah, he did. Listen, John August is writing the script and he's a tremendous writer, and I'll just wait for the script to come in. But I'd love to work with Pete again, and certainly would want to work with John August. So there's a strong possibility."Are we going to see The Rock in tights? "Well, knowing Pete, he'd update it and make it fresh," Johnson says. "But that's his question; he's very excited about the project and talks about it passionately. Pete also understands the importance of getting that right; he's a big comic book fan.

Reporters were able to sneak a little more from The Rock about the possible role and others; Johnson told that he has also talked with Peter Segal about playing Black Adam, Captain Marvel’s foe.

And the comic to film trend continues to boom, like thunder.

Kingpin Rules

Written by Kal-El

Wilson Fisk also known as The Kingpin, is the cold-blooded leader of the New York mafia, although his armies of lawyers maintain his image as a legitimate businessman. The character played a prominent role in the Daredevil stories of the late 1970s and early 1980s written by Frank Miller.

Wilson Fisk is a criminal mastermind who was involved in extensive illegal activities such as drug running, smuggling, murder, and so forth. Despite this, he had (until recently, see below) no criminal record and an army of lawyers to keep it that way, and is a criminal financial strategist without parallel.

Fisk has no superhuman powers, but the majority of his 400-plus pound bulk is muscle (when he delivered a kick to the Kingpin's back, Daredevil could only think, "Whatever that was, it wasn't fat. Felt more like rock"). He is a superb fighter who has held his own against Spider-Man, but in recent years Daredevil has occupied his attention. He has been aware of Daredevil's secret identity for years, thanks to Karen Page's drug-fueled betrayal. Though Spider-Man and Daredevil are his greatest enemies, he has also tangled with Captain America, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, The Punisher, the Avengers, and Ghost Rider, among others. He has employed any number of costumed criminals and assassins, notably Elektra, Bullseye, Jack O'Lantern, Answer, and Typhoid Mary.

Wilson Fisk began his life as a poor child, ridiculed by his classmates, as he was heavy and unpopular. When he was repeatedly harassed by bullies, Fisk began training himself in physical combat. Using his newfound strength, he intimidated the bullies into joining his gang, and he started on the road towards being one of the most successful criminals in New York City. His first gang was a small one with only a few thugs. However, he eventually was found by crime lord Don Rigoletto. Fisk became Don Rigoletto's bodyguard and right-hand man. Eventually, Fisk killed Don Rigoletto and took control of his gang, immediately becoming one of the most powerful criminals in the city.

The Kingpin stayed the ruler of New York's criminal underground for a long time. However, he had made enemies with other gangs, specifically the Maggia and HYDRA, who teamed together to bring down Fisk and his gang. Fisk left for Japan after his empire was brought down, and started a spice business, in order to become wealthy once more. After earning enough money, Fisk returned to New York and started gang wars, in an attempt to bring down the Maggia. With the criminal world in chaos, Fisk was able to step in and take control.

While Fisk was a powerful crime lord, he posed as a legitimate businessman, one who made donations to charities, and seemed like a generous, wealthy man. He eventually met a woman named Vanessa, whom he married and had a son with, Richard Fisk. Vanessa did not know that Fisk was a criminal when she married him, and when she found out, she threatened to leave him if he did not give up his life of crime. He temporarily retired from crime, and the family moved back to Japan, until gang wars in New York required Fisk's attention.

Richard Fisk did not find out that his father was a criminal until he was in college. After graduating, Richard told his parents he would travel through Europe. Only months after he left, they received news that Richard, who was angry after learning the truth about his father, had died in a skiing accident. However, this was not what really happened. It turned out that Richard Fisk was still alive, and he rose up to be one of the Kingpin's greatest criminal enemies, a rival crimelord known as The Rose. When Kingpin's empire was at its top, Fisk was the most powerful human in the Marvel universe, controlling several governments including the United States of America.

Wilson Fisk eventually lost his criminal empire to one of his employees, Samuel Silke, who was working with his son Richard, in a bloody Caesar-like assassination bid. In the aftermath, Vanessa killed Richard and fled the country with Fisk's remaining wealth while the Kingpin recuperated in an unnamed eastern-European country, broken and alone.

He returned, and after getting revenge on Silke by crushing his head, almost managed to regain his empire through sheer will, but was defeated by Daredevil, who declared himself the new Kingpin. Fisk was put in jail.

Recently, he hatched a scheme to be freed and regain his wealth by giving the F.B.I. proof in the form of the nonexistent "Murdock Papers" that Matt Murdock is Daredevil. Having made so many enemies who were in prison, Fisk was constantly under attack from the Hand, HYDRA, or any number of criminal organizations with which he had had intimate contact. The U.S. Government was hard pressed to get rid of this expensive, dangerous, legally clean master criminal, and Fisk succeeded in manipulating the F.B.I. into gravely wounding Daredevil and directing them to his D.N.A. He tells Ben Urich to give the feds the location of the Night Nurse, the only medic for injured superheroes, or go to jail.

He succeeded in getting Matt Murdock finally arrested, but the F.B.I. betrayed him at the last minute and arrested him as well, placing him in the same jail as Murdock with hopes that the two would kill each other. Ironically, the enemies were forced to team up in order to survive a prison riot which was directed at them. Finally, Murdock sacrificed the deal, refusing to let Bullseye, who was also incarcerated, leave the prison as Kingpin had planned. The fight ended with the Kingpin shot point-blank in the knee by gunfire from Bullseye intended for Murdock, while Murdock escaped.

This is not just a regular story of a Mafia; this is the story of Wilson Fisk, So far…

Marvel Legends Makes a 2nd Wave

Written by Kal-El

As we all know as recently Hua ho has brought in the wave 1 series of Marvel Legends Toy line, im hoping they bring in these new babies, This is the Marvel Legends Wave 2!! Featuring Blob once all 8 has been collected. Here is the breakdown of Figures included in this line of legends.

Yellow Jacket: Pym’s Yellowjacket identity was based in his shrinking power as well as his gauntlet-mounted bio-energy gun. He retained flight ability in both human and insect sizes, and maintained his knack for communicating with insects.

She-Hulk: The She-Hulk came about via the gamma-saturated blood transfusion given to her by her cousin, Bruce Banner. Her transformation altered her size and physical appearance, supplying her with a vast increase in strength and durability. Throughout her various adventures, she maintained her career as a lawyer---eventually gaining an ability to form a kind of She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters amalgam.

Thor: This appears to be the Lord of Asgard version of Thor, invested with the power of Odin and even, most interestingly, capable of confounding the influence of the Ragnarok. This Thor features a much more elaborate uniform and is equipped with a massive double-blade axe in addition to the might Mjolnir.

Ultimate Wolverine: This version of Wolverine originated as an assassin attached to Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutant Supremacy. Initially he infiltrated the ranks of the X-Men with the intention of killing Professor X.

Quicksilver: Apart from Quicksilver’s vastly evolved physiognomy and consequent mastery of super speed, he’s equipped with more creative applications such as the generation of miniature whirlwinds or the aggressive projection of wind spirals.

X3 Juggernaut: The movie version Juggernaut is much less grandiose than his comic book counterpart, has a modified uniform and a helmet leaving his face exposed, and mainly seems to play upon the idea of an unstoppable force minus the general invulnerability and mysticisms attached to the comic book Juggernaut.

Jean Grey: This is appears to be the movie version of Jean Grey in her Dark Phoenix form. Clad in a baroque red dress, her appearance is vaguely cadaverous, ostensibly due to the dominance of her alternate personality and the subsequent wellspring of corrupt power.

That's it folks! Me, i just wanna get my hands on X3 Juggernaut, Jean Grey, Ultimate Wolverine, She-Hulk and Thor. Well...yeah ookaaayy..

Unleash The Power!!

Spider-man comes back to the world of games again for the third installment of the Movie; Spider-man 3, brought to you by Activision.

Yes, it most fans anticipated that this game is gonna be similar to the likes of the previous Spider-man games (1 and 2), But what makes this game so great is that graphics wise, it has been improved, game gimmicks are also been updated, storyline is quite similar with the epic Movie, but straying along with other storylines with new additional villians like Kraven, The Lizard.etc.

I won't spoil it for you by talking much about this game, but what i like to highlight here is just a bunch of upgrades that you will experience in this game compared with the previous one.

In terms of graphics, The City scape looks much more better in this game, Spidey still will be able to swing from skyscrappers to another throughout the whole of New York, If you upgrade your acrobatic moves while in the air, it seems better, and also when you go fast, a blur aura comes to the screen, just like when Superman goes Mark 1 in the Superman Returns Game. But anyway, quite similar,In the previous games, the Spider-Man model was either comic like drawn, or bad colours are applied to him, now with more detailed. i mean, i'm only on PS2 yeah, imagine it on XBox 360 or PS3 even, Way better i think especially with HD support, but also importantly more Melee attacks feature, better moves, actually, it seemed flawless when i fought thugs on the street, the fighting techniques looks just exactly in the comics, cartoons , movies etc. You name it. Just need to upgrade it yourself to be the amazing Spider-Man.

As for the Storyline, to be frank with you all, i Haven't actually clock this game yet, i just got it yesterday, i played only 26% of the game, already, the storyline is fantastic, flow of the game may require some loading pages, but hey, im not complaining.

Game features, One of the good part here is that, Spidey have a few additional features than the previous games, More upgrades than usual, points are abit stingy tho, you will need points in order to purchase these moves, Another one of it is that Spidey or Peter as we know him, is able to take snapshots in Camera mode aswell, this makes it more Parker style, but most importantly, Spider-Man is able to change from the Red Blue suit to the black one by just pressing a button, this black suit give Spidey the edge of fighting enhancement, he is more powerful etc, but as it was shown in the movies, Spidey could only use it for a number of time only before the black suit consumes him all. I haven't exactly tried what happens if the black aura has covered everything tho...basically, it's like a drug with high adrenaline rush for spidey, what makes him feel good could also kill him.

Soundtrack for the game is also quite amazing, Activision has once again ochrastrated one of the best all time spider-man game ever made, scores for fighting scenes or even just swinging in danger.

Fun Factor: *** out of 5, Maybe it's just me, i like the swinging from one building to another and being a hero with freedom of movement, it's fun enough for me.

So in conclusion to my ratings, i rated this game a fair 8 out of 10, So go on True believers, go get that game and rescue my Mary Jane, I mean your Mary Jane.

"Hello, May I Speak with Lois Lane please?"

Written by Kal-El

Lois Lane started working in the Daily Planet (previously called The Daily Star) since the early golden age of the Superman Comics in the 1940’s; Lois was featured as an aggressive, career-minded reporter. after Clark Kent joined the paper and Superman debuted around the same time, found herself attracted to Superman, but displeased with her new journalistic competition in the form of Kent. Starting in the late 1940s or early 1950s comics, Lois began to suspect that Clark Kent was Superman, and started to make various attempts at uncovering his secret identity, all of which backfired, due to Superman manages to out smart Lois Lane.

By the end of the 1960s, as attitudes toward women's role in American society began to change, Lois did as well. 1970s stories featuring Lois depicted her as being fully capable of taking care of herself, engaged in more solo adventures without Superman being involved, and her being much less interested in things such as discovering Superman's secret identity.

Lois underwent a character alteration beginning with John Byrne's The Man of Steel miniseries, which was designed to rewrite Superman's origin from scratch. In the modern version of events, Lois was a tough-as-nails reporter who rarely needed rescuing. She was depicted as strong, opinionated, yet sensitive.

Another major change made was that Lois did not fall head over heels in love with Superman (though she may have harbored a slight crush at first). One reason for this was the changed nature of the Superman/Clark Kent relationship: before Superman had been the man who disguised himself as Clark Kent, but now Clark Kent lived a life in which his activity as Superman was decidedly secondary. After some time, Lois and Clark began dating. In the early 1990s, they became engaged and Clark revealed to Lois the secret of his dual life.

However, with the then-upcoming show Lois and Clark: the New Adventures of Superman, DC decided they did not want to have the two married in the comics and not married on TV. Partially as a result of this, Superman was killed in Superman #75 instead, dying in Lois' arms after a Monstrous Battle with the monster Doomsday. After a period of time, Superman returned to life, and both he and Lois resumed their relationship.

In 1996, coinciding with the Lois and Clark television program, Lois and Clark were finally wed in the one-shot special Superman: The Wedding Album, which featured the work of nearly every then-living artist who had ever worked on Superman. The Wedding Album itself.

Lois quite often has been played by number of famous celebrities.
Check the list below:

1) Rollie Bester originated the role of Lois Lane for a radio series with Bud Collyer as
Superman in the 1940s.
2) Phyllis Coates as Lois Lane on Adventures of Superman (1940’s)
3) Noel Neill as Lois Lane on Adventures of Superman (1948 and 1950’s)
4) Patricia Marand in Broadway musical It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman (1966)
5) Lesley Ann Warren in the TV version of It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman (1975)
6) Margot Kidder as Lois Lane in the Superman movies (1970s and 1980s)
7) Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993)
8) Dana Delany, voice of Lois Lane on Superman and subsequent Justice League cartoons.
(1990s – 2000)
9) Erica Durance as Lois Lane on Smallville (2001 – Current)
10) Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane in Superman Returns (2006 - Current)

May they live happily ever after.

Megatron Masterpiece

Every once in awhile I get to review something that's not only really cool, but really unexpected. And those are always my favorite reviews. Tonight's is one of those, as I take a look at a sixth scale zombie from a brand new company called Peril Unlimited. This guy is their first foray into action figures, and they've made 500 of him. There's 250 bloody, and 250 clean versions, and I don't expect them to last long. Oh, he's not quite perfect, but for the price he's pretty damn cool. And it's also great to see a small company doing things right, starting out slow and not taking on more than they can handle. I can't wait to see their next figure!

I also have a guest review up tonight from Norm. He's covering the very interesting Masterpiece Megatron, which makes two transformer reviews in less than a week. I'm on a roll!

You can check out all the reviews at the usual:

The Dark Knight Speaks

Since taking on the mantle of Bruce Wayne and Batman for the 2005 summer blockbuster Batman Begins, Christian Bale has become one of the more respected actors to take on the role, but before starting work on its sequel, The Dark Knight, Bale went to work with German filmmaker Werner Herzog on his latest dramatic film Rescue Dawn. Bale took a break from shooting The Dark Knight to talk to press about the Herzog film, but he took some time to answer a few questions from Superhero Hype! about the sequel-in-progress.

Superhero Hype!: You seem like an actor who is always looking to do something new, so how hard is it for you to go back and play Batman, a character you've already done? Is there something new you feel you can bring to him?

Christian Bale: You got to see with the other versions, it didn't really keep it going, but Chris Nolan who I'm working with for the third time now, he ain't going to be making a movie if he's not going to be doin' something very different with it which he's achieved in spades. I'm actually liking very much the idea, because I haven't reprised a role before, so I know it already and obviously there'll be progress. We've got a great cast as well. Chris and me work very well together, so I know we'll be fighting an awful lot to add to it. The last thing it is is treading water. Now the people support us completely too so we have all that extra support behind us, to just kind of let rip.

SHH: As an actor, how important is it to have a franchise character that you can go back to which allows you to do things like this movie?

Bale: Well, I've been doing things like this movie anyway. It's not like if I didn't have the franchise, I'd say, "No I can't make Rescue Dawn." What it does allow though is that something like "Rescue Dawn" you know Werner and me have been talking about making it for two and a half years, but I doubt it's a huge coincidence that we got the finance pretty quick after I'd been in "Batman." So it does mean that I can do these things in a much easier fashion verses a number of years back where like "American Psycho 2," it took two years, just because they didn't want me. Certainly it helps with that, but in and of itself, I really like what Chris has done and working with him on "Batman." I tell you, it's the only time in my life that I've been actually planning the future, because usually you know what you're doing for the next two months if you're lucky. After that, you have no idea. I've gone times when I've really needed to work, and there was no work coming in for me. I didn't work for a year and a half or something. I guess having a franchise is the only time you can actually kind of sit back and go, "It's alright. It's going to be okay." Even if nothing else happens, I know that that's going to come along at some point. You don't even know that actually because they could dump me in a second. But, it's a good bit.

SHH: Can you talk about your training for the upcoming film?

Bale: There are new things that I'm having to train for, but again just in the same way that we kind of were untested before, they know I know my right from my left now. They know when I walk, my arm swings the right way and everything. There's a little bit more confidence in me about my ability to pick things up quickly. We did start awhile back which I believe is a mystery for what we are training for.

SHH: How about working with Heath as The Joker?

Bale: Absolutely. He's a great choice for it. I like him personally, but he's got a real craving for playing that role. I think he's going to do something really very different. We worked together briefly in the Todd Haynes movie. The Dark Knight is scheduled for release on July 18, 2008, but Bale will first be seen in Werner Herzog's Rescue Dawn, which opens on the 4th of July.

Jon Favreau on Iron Man update

"I just got back in town. The company has been on the road for many weeks. We started off in the mountains of Lone Pine which doubled for Afghanistan. We then moved to Edwards Air Force Base. We finally closed out the out of town work with Fontana, CA.

Let me confirm a few things: The movie will contain both the gray suit and the gold and red. The light you see in the photo on Robert's chest in the USA Today article is the chest piece glowing through his shirt. He is in captivity and forging the mask of the Mark 1. Both suits have been built practically by Winston Studios and are busily at work as we speak.

Iron Man hits theaters in 2008!

Thanks Kara

The Killing Hand

The Hand is known for a fictional villainous organization in the Marvel Comics universe. The Hand first appeared in Daredevil volume 1 and were created by writer and well known artist as Frank Miller. They are marked by their red costumes. This is the Hand.

The Hand is a cult of evil mystical ninja who are heavily involved in organized crime and mercenary activities such as assassination plots. The Hand covets power above all other objectives. They are primarily based in Japan, but operate internationally. They were founded in the 16th century and soon became servants of the primordial demon known only as the Beast. Members of the Hand are practitioners of powerful occult magic and can murder a person and bring that person back to life as a servant of the Hand. Only Elektra, Psylocke, and Wolverine are known to have reversed this programming. Wolverine was brainwashed in a combined operation by the Hand and Hydra.

This story began 800 years ago, in Japan. Seeking autonomy from the oppressive class system of the time, a few citizens fled into the mountainous regions of Iga and Kōga. There they developed ninjitsu, a stealthy martial art perhaps inspired by Sun Tzu's The Art of War. Over a period of centuries, they refined their art in secluded camps. Students trained and practiced the art from birth, playing children's games designed to impart expertise Ninjitsu. Ninjitsu was also designed to encourage spiritual growth by pushing oneself physically and mentally beyond normal human limits. The ninja were expert in espionage and assassination, and offered their specialised services to samurai warlords and others who could afford them. Basically Master ninja stuff and of course they will kill at will. The most evil and devious of all these ninja was a faction called the Hand. Unlike the other factions, the Hand did not work as mercenaries, but sought power themselves. The Hand sought dominance over all others, worked for no one but themselves, and sought to eliminate their enemies. From the very beginning, the Hand employed Dark magic, imparted unto them by their demonic master, The Beast. One of these black spells causes a Hand ninja's lifeless body to return to dust and prevent another from directly gazing at the Beast itself.

The Hand ninja survive to this day, still seeking power in various forms, and using their lethal skills and brutal methods. The Hand's most dangerous adversary is The Chaste, a band of warriors once led by Stick, the late, blind martial arts master and former mentor of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. Another of his former pupils, Elektra Natchios, has also been involved with the Hand. She infiltrated the Hand, determined to prove herself to Stick. Instead, the ninja tricked her into killing one of her former senseis. Elektra served the Hand for a time. When their ways corrupted her soul, she fled Japan back to America.

Eventually, the Hand sought to wipe out Stick and the good warriors of the Chaste altogether. Stick thwarted an assassination attempt by four Hand operatives; he then summoned the other members of his order to New York City. With the assistance of his clan, Stick defeated Kirigi, the Hand's most lethal ninja at the time. The Hand regrouped and attacked Stick and his band of warriors that now included Daredevil and his current lover, Black Widow. The Hand had almost overpowered the small band of warriors, when Stick and Shaft resorted to an ancient technique that drained the life force from all ninja present. Unfortunately, the technique resulted in the explosion of Stick and his comrade as a result of the excess energy they had absorbed. The Hand considered the destruction of their arch-nemesis and leader of their enemy a victory and turned their attention to other schemes.

Years later, the Hand again turned its attention to the leaderless Chaste, once again attempting to destroy them, this time to prevent the Chaste's members from locating the new-born child that would bear Stick's reincarnated soul. The Hand severely crippled Stick's soldiers, reducing their number to a handful of warriors. The few remaining traveled to New York, seeking the assistance of Daredevil. Reluctantly, the Man Without Fear aided his former mentor's disciples, returning with them to Japan. Once there, The Hand attacked the Chaste and Daredevil relentlessly. Fighting alongside Daredevil, the Chaste barely managed to escape and safeguard their master's reincarnated spirit.

The Hand has also frequently fought with Wolverine and come into conflict with superheroes such as Spider-Man, the Avengers, and the X-Men. The Hand played a particularly large role in the history of Psylocke.

So don't walk in the alley alone at night, The Hand might be watching you.

The Answer

Written by Kal-El

Here is the poll results of last two weeks questionnaire, hopefully our voices will be heard for toy shop investors to come up with one to be established in Brunei. Thank you all that has supported that the idea IS possible. Hopefully when the time comes, this will be a big impact so that we can create the market need here in Brunei, Who knows, we might even have our very own Comic Conventions here.

The Singapore Effect

Written by Kal-El

Singapore trip was excellent, attended my course and had my exams there, clock it through stress and pain, but yeah I got thru, but on top of that, I got a Bonus to go on an Action Figure hunt there. It was like heaven for me there, preparing myself on this mystical journey, I sat down and talk with the guys like GL and Sexy Lexy regarding the Action Figure Shops in SG. I Plan out every schedule of the trip there so it wouldn’t jeopardize my studies and career.

First stop I made was when SSR called me in SG that she was at Toys ‘R’ Us at The Forum building, what did I do? I called the cab straight away, we all know what Toys ‘R’ Us have, so the first thing I saw there on display was a vast range of Spiderman Action Figures and Toys for the upcoming Blockbuster Movie Spiderman 3, lucky for me I have already got this, but what I saw I didn’t have was there..The Spiderman Origins line and some of the Mattel’s DC superheroes line. For which after much hesitation of chosing which ones to get, (I Do have a conscious at this time, thinking about my luggage) so I went and got the Bizarro and the Spiderman Origins.

Toys ‘R’ Us Address:
The Forum
Suntec City
Paragon

Then the next day, me and my colleague decided to go to Takashimaya, there also carried some toys with the likes of TMNT, Spiderman 3 movie lines, Hasbro’s Transformers and lastly Star Wars figure. I was tempted to get the Star Wars, but ended up not getting it. Be careful, I was already blinded by the amount of actions figures that they have here, it’s amazing. My colleague quoted “I’ve never seen anyone moved so fast in the Toy section”. After several argument in my head, I decided to hold it off, due to that it is only the second time I so an action figure shop, so I kept perseverance.

Then came to the Funan Digitalife Mall, where I and my colleague saw another Bruneian, to whom is my dearest friend Salleh. Throughout the Mall, they offered a big number of IT shop, it may not be as big as the famous Sim Lim Tower, but they got a lot of IT stuff there too. So yeah back to my story, I Stumble upon a shop called Alaric’s Comics and Collectible shops. It was the damnest thing that happened...The shop was closed already, All I had was a view of stuff that this place carries. The DC and Marvel Collectibles shops. It was simply amazing, I couldn’t believe that such shop exists. All the stuff that they have was what I was browsing to on the internet a few months ago. Much to anger that they close so early as 8pm, I made a promise to myself that the next day I would come earlier after my training was done.

So the next day, I had a major big exam to attend to, having 2 exams in order to get my Certification as an IT Technician, I had to clear off my head on the Action figures there and get back to business. After a long 1 hour exams, I had pass this one, and knowing that I only have 1 more exams there so this takes away a little bit of pressure. So with that, I decided to go and release my stress by visiting Alaric’s Comics. Those guys in there weren’t too sure of what questions I asked. But what I know is that, what they got there was amazing, from Action Figures, to Statues, Busts, Comics and other collectibles. Was awesome, I just wish GL and Sexy Lexy was there too with me, so I could share my insanity of the glorious moment of striking gold. This where I got the Superman / Batman: Supergirl , Armoured Wonder Woman by Alex Ross from Kingdom Come, Hawkgirl from the JSA line. Power Girl from the Infinite Crisis, Hal Jordan from The Green Lantern Line (My apologies to GL, only 1 left), Aquaman first appearance, The Joker and Clark Kent/Superman from Unmasked and Alex Ross’s Green Arrow.Coming home from it, with a big smile on my face.

Next of, I went to Far East Plaza to go and get Sexy Lexy’s MP-05 Megatron Master piece edition, First I went to Earth X shop on the 5th floor, they also carry a lot of Japanese imports here as well as the Marvel Selects, sadly its non that I wanted…well maybe some…but I was mainly focusing on targeted action figures, but sadly the Megatron had been sold out. So I was told by Chan the friendly owner of Earth X, to go and visited Toy Quest, Now by this time it was nearly 930pm, they were already closed. So there was only one more shop to go to at this time, The was the Falcon’s Hanger.

The Falcon’s Hanger was introduced to my by a former colleague back when I was still working for Finance. My Thanks to Edwin for telling me about this wonderful place. The Falcon’s hanger carries mainly Star Wars figure and other collectibles. The have RAH (Real Action Heroes) to which I was tempted. Transformers was also sold there too, Lucky for Sexy Lexy, they had 1 Megatron here. This figure was truly a masterpiece. Then I came about a very interesting shop, from the Picture above, I didn’t included a Robocop figure that I got, it was simply amazing, of all places to find this particular figure, I found it on a women’s clothing / shoe shop in Far East plaza, it was displayed with other Spawn figures, kinda old lines, but still in mint condition. But what caught my eye was the Robocop, going at a price of $25, I tried haggling it down to a 20, but the storekeeper said that it was a collectible, and my other half was too busy looking at shoes in the store to haggle it for me, she’s my haggler so if you ever need someone to haggle stuff for you, SSR is the one. (I Love her for that)

My collection seemed to grow bigger everyday, so I went the next day just to shop at Raffles city close by to where I was staying, there I saw Marvel Super Hero Squads, the Second wave, going only at a price of $10 each. So I quickly called GL and got it for him. Lucky guy, he managed to complete his list of Superhero Squads, ranging of the likes of Wolverine, Saber tooth, Magneto, Cyclops, Archangel, Colossus, Captain America and Hawkeye.

On my last day after my final exams, For which I had passed, finally the stress mode is off, we went off to Bugis area, where I stumbled upon a fantastic shop of DC Superheroes clothing shop there, got my self a Superman T Shirt with the Emblem on it. They carry a huge selection of DC superheroes shirt from Superman, Wonder Woman,The Flash etc. You nameit. Do visit this shop whenever your in Bugis. After that I went up to one of the store nearby Kinokuniya in Bugis, a comic store name Absolute Comics, also nearly the same like Alaric’s, this is where I found the Supergirl figure, at a price of $28, I took it. The carry also Comic books, Statues, Busts, Collectibles and also apparels.

Next Morning on Sunday, the day I would leave this fantastic place, before that I decided maybe I’ll just drop by to Toys ‘R’ Us again one more time, this time at The Paragon, I saw the 20th Anniversary Edition of Optimus Prime (Not Shown) he was Huge!! Die Cast body frame, going about $129, he was slightly cheaper than at Hua Ho manggis, I knew I had to get him, but at the same time worried cause my luggage may be to heavy and he would definitely could not fit the space any more, despite my arguments with my conscious, I decided to go ahead with it. Not just with Prime but also got myself the Superman and Mongul from DC Superheroes also. But in the end, I came home with a Microsoft Certificate and also a number of figures to add to my collections.

So yeah there you go guys, story of the week. Go to Singapore if your desperate, it’s worth the journey, make sure you bring a big suit case, get a box while your at it, and also bring as much money as you can, you won’t regret it. Feel free to ask me anything regarding Singapore toy shops, I’ll try to answer any questions as I can.
